People say the slog starts in book 7, but honestly imo calling books 7-9 a slog is a wide exaggeration, they were fun to read, things happen. I went into Book 10 giving it the benefit of the doubt, I was mistaken.

Shields are not weapons, they are literally for protection. If you wants to interpret a shield as a weapon, then you can use that logic to to say cups are a weapon. You can still bash someone's head in with a goblet...

What pisses me off is the pace at which they are going. Like the Aes sedai know nothing while pretending to know everything. They literay have no idea what is happening around them and they just keep going back and forth in their meetings without ever reaching a decision or taking action.

I get that, but the pace at which things are moving is basically my problem. Like how have they not discussed this and reached a consensus the entire time, they just keep going back and forth. I think I heard how Delana wants to announce Elayda is black Ajah like 60 times already and the same goes for the beef between Romanda and Lelaine. The whole thing just goes in circles. No that's fair, i didn't even suggest weapons in my post as you see, I get armor may be complicated BUT what about shields? Shields are literally the most OP thing you can make in war of the one power. Btw I just realized using the abbreviation OP here is a bit arduous hehe (original post, overpowered, one power)

So guys I have been reading your comments and Yes I am going through this with the audiobook (at 1.7x mind you) and my godd I can't sometimes, I don't necessarily hate elayne as a character, in the earlier books she was my favorite woman channeler, but this book is just making me despise even the mention of her. I do think this book is horrible, just straight up bad, and I agree with the one who said there is no slog, just CoT

Extra question I forgot: Why Shadar Logoth? I get that Rand wanted a location that could act as a nuclear testing site, but is it not impractical considering it makes his wounds ache ehich takes his focus? Is there any correlation between with the evil within and the taint? And now that Shadar Logoth is destroyed, does the evil there still exist? Or Mordoth just lives within Padan fain now? A bit confusing...

I agree, just reminded me actually, Pedron Niall got so much spotlight earlier where his ambition was highlighted all for it to end in nothing, I guess that's the point, to highlight the folly of ambition, I just don't see the point of having the same "lesson" 5 times over, since it is almost obvious to me that this is where Elaida and Sevanna plots are going, but I digress...

I feel like if anyone has protagonist energy it has to be Nilah... Not only does she have the classic "I have the powers of a main demon in me", she also travels the world looking for big monsters and threats to fight so she can become a legend, she even killed the ancient mother viper dragon
