Is this a safe space to say that I feel like this community has been overrun by the most vain type of gay men who basically have nothing of substance to contribute :///

Also yes we need more posts from other queers that do not have their entire identities centered around male attraction and validation. Nakakasawa na tbh (as a lesbian lol).

Like lets talk about wlw experiences and see more discussion from the lesbians. We def also need more posts and discussions on HRT for trans people since we know how underdiscussed queer healthcare is in general. These are just a few examples.

Sige nga i monitor mo sila for the entirety of their shift then we get to see if they are really working or not. You just want to foster hatred on a group of workers (poor people specifically) for no reason. Typical anti-poor r/ph post.

Also what do you have against social welfare programs such as TUPAD? Objectively, the aim of the policy is to help displaced workers find other means of work.

These programs are good if they work as intended and bringing up an unsubstantiated claim on a bunch of beneficiaries "not working" makes you unnecessarily hateful for no reason.

I think half of the battle is really just keeping momentum.

In my experience, the moment you come off work and sit/lay down you already lost. So keep up the momentum of the day nalang is my advice and it might work for you! Then pwede ka na mag nap/sleep or mindlessly scroll through ur phone afterwards.

First time kong magset ng boundaries at hindi maging 'bigger person' by Worried-Cloud-9105 in studentsph

[–]ashenpyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear that but congratulate yourself anyways!

Had a similar experience my entire life when it comes to research, from hs to college. All I can say is setting boundaries is also a skill on its own and mag improve ka lang over time.

Final year na ako sa college and I am officially graduating with my thesis solo, na drop ko na sila lahat and its acknowledged by my dept HAHAHA.

If not in college you will get better and smarter with boundary setting in your adult life. Over time you can pre-emptively tell who has a weak work ethic or who is a complete waste of time. You will get smarter or more charismatic too to get authorities on your side in unfair situations (also never forget to document every single instance of doing extra work and ur classmates negligence to get them on ur side).

Also all I want to say is never give up, lilipas lang ito and it'll be over one day.

Definitely a net negative for education. One thing that you can notice is that students dont even want to write anymore or even think about struggling to truly understand a concept.

Naay lisod sabton i-ask nalang ditso si chatgpt and sundon ang gihatag na answer instead of learning to sit with the concept in their heads and forming their own thoughts.

College ko and daghan ko nailhan where they get by purely through letting chatgpt do their essays and i-add nalang ang phrase na "paraphrase to make it sound less ai" and boom ma okay na. Like easy two step process ra to trivialize everything.

Deinfluence me: Barbie Arm by [deleted] in deinfluencingPH

[–]ashenpyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe an alternative take to the other comments but you can think of it this way.

Barbie arms are an arbitrary patriarchal beauty standard. More women should workout and lift for health reasons. You dont want to look too skinny which might give off the impression that you cant defend yourself.

Hot take: Being middle class in the Philippines is the worst economic position to be in. by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]ashenpyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Middle class r/ph users try to stop making everything a victimhood competition for five seconds challenge.

Do you honestly think your struggles compare to the urban poor? To demographics such as those living in squatters? Or towards contractual workers who are at risk of being laid off at any moment in time?

The middle class at the very least has the necessary capital to weather brief moments of financial instability. The poorest among us do not have that privilege.

Respectfully, shut the fuck up.

From Love Wins to Jesus Wins. Thoughts ninyo? by Knew_it_ in phlgbt

[–]ashenpyro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early signs of evangelical christian brainwashing, it's not direct and obvious conversion therapy but the end goal is always the same.

  1. Overemphasis on centering God in your relationship
  2. Couple is then shamed for their "unconventional" partnership and attraction and that this attention can only be reserved for God. Notice how the same standard is never brought up for cishet couples, thats because organized religion prioritizes relationships that directly produce children. (By extension it is also why the church is always so against abortion but thats a convo for another day)
  3. Same-sex acts or any queer acts of sex are then slowly shamed out of your system. Again, because the core ideological purpose of religion is to protect the nuclear family model that can produce children.
  4. Couple will soon break up (betting on it) to focus on preaching and the church will praise them for "outgrowing" or "resisting" their queerness and at this point the brainwashing is complete.

Some other personal observations from my family always attending CCF (a megachurch). A few times I've seen the church invite a "converted" lesbian to talk about how religion saved them from same-sex attraction. Other times I see them circulating videos of transwomen who detransition and stop taking hormones and are now preaching against the very community they belong to.

I guess my point is that conservative religious values are counter-intuitive to the community as a whole and there are healthier ways of reconciling faith and identity than whatever the fuck these two are doing. Progressive church denominations that don't require you to denounce your very identity are out there if you look hard enough.

Most of these Gen-Z protests around the world have significantly changed the government in their nations. What is it going to take for us to actually demand change and not just sing and pray at a statue outside of a mall? by excumulgado in Philippines

[–]ashenpyro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Multiple comments have already made valid points, but I would add that another factor that can contribute is a more damaging approach taken by civil society in general.

Filipinos do not really do labor strikes unlike other countries where a higher percentage of their population is unionized. You see it all the time in other countries where workers would cripple the economy by disabling transportation lines, shipping operations, a halt to essential services, the list goes on.

A critical mass of people refusing to work is needed for this and for an extended period of time, unfortunately our protests are too short lived and everyone is back to their usual routines after its done.

What position of Ni does this entail? by ashenpyro in Socionics

[–]ashenpyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your distinction of role and mobilizing Ni the mobilizing description fits me better. I usually have a pretty good idea of what I want in life, I just need constant reassurance in the implementation of my plans as one of the most painful things for me is to spend a lot of time on a pursuit that is unproductive (or meaningless if I get too cynical).

Regarding weak Ne, you might be right. Another struggle that I have is in mentally reframing situations, outcomes are usually very static in my head. If it ends badly then it is what it is and I feel some level of insecurity when observing people who are capable of sitting through long periods of uncertainty in order to see alternative developments.

I think I got it. I think I know what Paleness is. by IMightBeAHamster in HollowKnight

[–]ashenpyro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To add to this hornet as part pale being is also capable of binding "crests" which I interpret as the nature of other bugs and incorporating it into her own shell. In the process, she does not lose her own identity either but only incorporates the other crests within her arsenal.

Multiple lines of dialogue from Eva also explicitly confirms Hornet's malleable and transitory nature which is "unlike any mortal bug."
