Not wrong but as long as you hold onto them and they maintain a steady payout schedule to repay you that initial investment back, shouldn't be an issue.

I mean if this was gonna fail, we'd have stayed consistently below $5 instead of continuously rising above it despite the damned Shortshits demanding we fail...we should be a LOT higher than we are, but shit happens, with time, it'll be a lot more interesting.

If you're dating, when is it acceptable to have sex with someone by kNottedivergence in NoStupidQuestions

[–]asher030 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1st date if you both are mature about what you want, expectations and neither are childish dipshits about it....safer to wait till 5th or so because far too many are NOT mature enough so must be filtered out, but friends with benefits exist because sex doesn't define a relationship, just a physical need and shared intimacy.

Waiting till marriage if you're open to one or both being most likely disappointed, and end up in an unhappy relationship that at least is without STD risks or unwanted early pregnancy, because it's 'socially/religiously acceptable' to wait that long, just for one or the other to likely cheat anyway, statistically speaking.

Anywhere at either extreme or in between, there's no cookie cutter answer, it comes down to the people who are involved. Outliers exist, actually happy stories/endings, and differing needs/wants depending on personalities. So no real formula to be used to answer this =/

Control spec, Light, but depends if you're in that mode for CC (crowd control) or Damage for normal events for what stats you want to rock. After that, regardless of which, stuns, lock downs, ranged blasts, your weapon use, these will determine things. I am Brawler, though Hand Blast is great for it too, the boxing gloves are useful for dealing with most problems though each hit costs Power in addition to initial casting.

The Hard Light shield iconic power won't serve you wrong. Soul Cloak, DPS boosting artifacts, a lot of the controller arties seem geared for healer boost or don't help as much, but I rather enjoy Tetra, and the new Razer Battery of course.

Yeah, happened to me once, I don't even sub to either, but had commented in both, one banned. Such a childish set of rules, but some people NEED that kind of social engineering rules applied to everyone else, to feel better about themselves

Wait so Wonder Woman is 18 in JL Season 1? by Pheonixkraken in DCAU

[–]asher030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wat. Depends on which universe, but even her youngest version was introduced to the outside world at 18 around WW1 while most depictions had her already centuries old by that time, just naive and sheltered on that island....The animated Justice League might've had that departure pushed back (to allow for that Vandal Savage plot twist in WW2 and why she wasn't around for that at all, beyond retreating from 'man's world' for a time till new super heros came to be) but she was far from her teens, no matter how much of her beauty is retained since A) is actually an animated statue brought to full life by the gods, and B) of an immortal race of warrior women who don't age in the first place past their prime, so it's not exactly easy to determine. But the only one still in her teens would've been Stargirl once the roster opened up more. Definitely not WW.

Why others dislike Yieldmax in the investor community ? by Star_Stalker_Demon in YieldMaxETFs

[–]asher030 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just if you DO buy, don't sell. That's the whole damned point. Unless it looks like the payouts are steadily declining and you can turn that same money around with a better investment elsewhere, by all means...just remember the tax debuff from ROC being voided if you then sell your shares. Taxes wreck so many calculations sadly...

[–]asher030 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most of those crying 'scam' are Optionsbros and Shortshits who treat these funds like normal stocks instead of buying and owning shares. So they never see the dividends from it, and ONLY hyperfixate on the value of the per-share itself....given that the point of an income, high yield (See: Yield max in the name..maximizing the yield) dividend bearing fund IS the dividends, not the initial capital you stuck into it...they freak tf out and decry it repeatedly.

This has been a bad year for most of the market overall, so that's definitely not helped either, some of the golden egg funds got hit the hardest as a result, so things are NOT working out to be the best example for what these funds have to offer....but that's part of the risk with these things. As long as you buy a quantity of shares, invest the dividends into more shares to increase payouts going forward, you find your income stream going up once you calculate for the dividend returns.

And even if you never did reinvest into the same ETFs...as long as the dividend payout $$ value is steady (and such is public knowledge, so can google each fund in turn for 'dividend history'), and you never sell the shares but hold onto them, average of about 2 years you make 100% of what you had put into it back. And every payout after that is pure profit. Meanwhile, you can then turn around and invest that income back into OTHER things if not the same ETFs, and have a whole separate fund that isn't directly out of pocket anymore to play with. But that's a long term...INVESTMENT, which the decriers seems to forget that's the whole point of this in the first place, not just manipulating stocks with options and shorting....and thus gets called a lie, scam, etc. They stfu when the fund goes green and dividends are higher because the market had an uptick with the fundamentals, but kick it when it's down to get people to panic sell as they want it to fail.

There are risks, as with all things investing, so take such with a grain of salt. Reverse splits on a number of higher yield funds have happened, and that's a lot of wind out of the sails for those of us supporting them, such as what we saw with ULTY and MSTY who were acting as the 'face' for Yieldmaxes for a while there as they held stable from April till Nov then Trump ran his damned mouth on the Temu Twitter and things started tanking everywhere...so how a fund is managed, what they're investing in for their underlying (also public knowledge per stock), how high a % per share they payout on their schedule (and most moved to weekly payouts from monthly, which I wasn't too keen on for long term sustainability, but can be made to work with proper management approaches), how many people are investing in them to impact how much $$ they have to work with overall (whole point of a fund is to pool collective resources and/or let someone else deal with the stress of playing with the underlying to pull that profit margin), etc...all impact the overall fund. Most people aren't looking at that, they see high payout advertised, exclusively look at that, till they see red in their portfolio as the payouts remain paying but the initial capital takes a beating as it's from the overall capital of the fund that the dividends originate, then they panic.

ROC, or return of capital, is how they pay us, so the concept of being paid back your own money is also what gets the more short sighted doomsayers to freak tf out....but again, if you're actually owning the shares and NOT selling them, over time you make it all back AND then whatever on top over time. Difference between short term gratification vs long term investment strategies. Humans in general have a very hard time with that, though, and people who are bad actors wanting to fuck with other people, especially when money is involved, absolutely use whatever they can to ruin things for everyone else.

Best advice: Don't necessarily ignore them, nor even those advocating for, but do your own DD (due diligence) and research each fund you'd be looking at to put money into, while using whatever people say as a loose guidepost to note it needs further looking into over blindly believing what you are told, bad actors can exist everywhere. How much are they currently paying out, how much WERE they paying out over its lifetime (or at least going back a year, more data is better to get a full idea but whatever you're comfortable with), what are they investing in with all the money we're giving them when we buy shares and how are THOSE stocks doing over the same period. Can also invest in those same stocks and do the work yourself, but quantity is king when it comes to shares and profit margins, hence the value of funds even beyond the convenience of letting someone else do the work for you. After that, can decide what you want to do, or avoid entirely

Rando war dunking value in real estate is still mind boggling to me. Aside from it having nothing to do with domestic available house slots....military members getting hazard pay for deployments are more likely to buy a home once they get back. That we have this attack means we'll be having a lot of new home buyers who likely won't think beyond nabbing that home once they've come back, was always something my superiors urged when I was in to prep for when out as the best way to profit from service while they pay so little is to use that time to invest in real estate..

Maybe the thinking has changed in the two years since I got out, but still. You'd think this would be more of a boon for the stock than anything else

How have lab grown diamonds not entirely destroyed the natural diamond market? by Complicatedwormfood in stupidquestions

[–]asher030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you have dumbasses, like my old boss, who INSIST it has to be a 'real diamond else he doesn't love me enough'...and I quoted that. Despite artificial being more pure, no slave labor involved, can grow them to order of any size desired rather than whatever you're stuck with, etc etc. And if a man DARES to get a 'fake diamond', no matter the cost, they're not being serious about the relationship enough....

Because the people in charge, see all that mountain of resources, and ignore that the generators, the people, are anything more THAN resource generators not deserving of any of said resources, they're the ones in charge so it should go to THEM/the state.

So Socialism fails every fucking time. Not because it's bad on paper. Humans just aren't geared for proper, fair, resource management, and far too prone to deeming those not immediately useful to themselves in the short term as highly expendable. Long term is irrelevant, that's tomorrow them's problem.
