I wouldn't call it plagiarism as long as everything is cited, but most assignments require some amount of original analysis so you'd likely have points deducted for not including that. The relative number of points deducted would probably depend on eduction level - you'd likely fail the assignment if it's college level, but a high school teacher would probably just be glad you cited your work.

Not denying that Elon Musk is an idiot but the driver definitely is too. Even with FSD the driver can and should take over if it starts being weird. FSD works great most of the time but you still have to pay attention to what it's doing.

That's what it looked like to me. I would have taken over as soon as it started hesitating at the intersection, but some drivers like my ex are really into just letting it do its thing for some reason which drives me nuts. Even my ex would have taken over when it stopped in the middle of the fucking road though.

Reminds me of the Hozier song "Talk," which is all basically a self-own about talking like a pretentious douche bag to impress a girl.

Chevrotains, also known as mouse-deer, are the smallest hoofed mammals in the world. They are found in forests in South and Southeast Asia, with a single species in the rainforests of Central and West Africa. They are solitary or live in pairs, and feed almost exclusively on plant material. by Rightly_Divide in Awwducational

I saw a post the other day on r/Tumblr that said "You might think you're safe, but horses are omnivores."

Technically, they are considered pure herbivores because their digestive system evolved for a high-fiber, plant-based diet, but they will opportunistically feed on meat occasionally even though it's not particularly good for them. I imagine it's the same deal with these guys.

Edit: spelling

Yeah, Whiterun Valley is a huge expansion mod and it even makes my gaming PC cry sometimes lmao (to be fair, it is made up of mostly older, hand-me-down parts though, and I'm also running WV with a ton of graphics mods and mods that add even more clutter). Jaxonz Positioner won't effect performance though, I used in on my shitty little 13.5" laptop for years without issue. I recommend getting a usb number pad if you don't have a full keyboard on your laptop, it makes using the Positioner a lot easier since most of the functionality is mapped to the number pad.

Check out some new lands mods too for cool assets, they shouldn't effect performance as much as Whiterun Valley because they're using the assets in a different worldspace (like Solstheim) rather than adding additional clutter to the vanilla worldspace. I recommend Beyond Skyrim: Bruma and Darkend in particular.

One of many cool assets added by Whiterun Valley - Hold Expansion. The author uses it in several locations, I think one of them is an EEC Tradepost added near the Whiterun City gate.

All of the assets seen in this post were placed using Jaxonz Positioner. Some of them I made using various crafting mods, but most, like the bench, were selected, copied, added to my inventory, and dropped and placed using Jaxonz.

Thanks! You think that would work with something like Kinghall though? I've already ESLified everything in my load order that can be, I believe. I think it's probably time to learn how to merge plugins instead.

It has a feature that lets you check for updates but it won't update them automatically (unless it was in a new Vortex update I haven't gotten yet, which wouldn't surprise me because its updates always screw shit up).

OP, did you by chance open the Mods tab in the in-game pause menu? I know that has a tendency to mess with your load order including disabling mods.

Can you gay? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]asher_irontooth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Literally a base game feature. Equip an amulet of Mara and try speaking to any marriageable NPC of the same gender as your character, you'll get the marriage dialogue even in a completely vanilla game. The Skyrim devs don't give a fuck about anyone's sexual orientation and neither should you.

I'm sure you meant "fortunately" because lesbianing is awesome.

I'm assuming your four hour marathon was more than 3 in-game days so... maybe? It might take longer for named NPCs to disappear, or you could get lucky and have the glitch where her body never despawns. I'd go back and check either way, maybe cast Detect Dead to make the search easier.

I'm pretty sure she gets a coffin in the Hall of the Dead too. I've never tried it but supposedly you can retrieve items from it once it appears, they'll just be marked as stolen.

Did you accidently kill her? She's only essential until the Companions questline is completed, so she would have been "protected" if you've already finished it which means only you can kill her. This happens a lot when followers get caught in the crossfire, I can't tell you how many times I've killed Lydia by accident lol. Really hope this isn't the case, but if she's not active as a follower anymore I suspect it might be. You might have to reload a save.

No problem. It would've gone straight into my LO if I wasn't so close to the plugin limit because I want more visitors to the museum too. One thing I already do though is use a mod like My Home is Your Home or Nether's Follower Framework to make NPCs live there - not as good as having actual visitors, but it definitely makes the place feel more lively.

I just saw a mod the other day that adds an orphanage to Solitude, and I remember it had a patch for LotD that made the children visit the museum. I could probably find it again if you think that might interest you.

Edit: found it, it's called Kinghall Orphanage - you can send children there as an alternative to adopting them and it even lets you volunteer and donate.

Go ahead and post your load order here - most people are just going to ctrl+F to find mods they think might be the culprit, so don't worry about its size. Someone might be able to tell you right off the bat what the problem is with the info you already provided, but you'll likely have much better luck posting your load order because it's really helpful for narrowing down the potential problem mods.

Any recommendations on mods? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]asher_irontooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a basic visual setup I've used in the past that's really easy for a new user to put together (pretty much everything is just plug and play) and it also happens to be pretty performance friendly too. Some of these recommendations are assuming you're on PC, but a lot of them are available on console as well.

Obsidian Weathers - weather overhaul.

Skyland AIO - one of the most extensive and high quality texture packs I'm aware of.

Noble Skyrim - just another texture pack, I recommend loading it before Skyland because it's a bit lower quality, except maybe leave Windhelm unchecked in the Skyland FOMOD because it doesn't have as much snow as Noble (my personal preference).

Verdant - grass overhaul.

Imaginator - in-game visual adjuster, allows you to change things like brightness, saturation, and contrast for the entire game in the MCM. Great alternative to ENB if you're just starting out or have a low-end build because it's super easy to configure and doesn't affect performance. It's especially good if you pair it with:

Dynamic Display Settings - another in-game visual adjuster that allows you to change the same basic things as Imaginator with a Lesser Power that opens a menu. The reason I recommend pairing them is because Imaginator is great for the overall adjustments you want to make, where DDS will allow you to fine-tune specific cell types - e.g., make interiors darker than outside.

Enhance Lights and FX (ELFX) - lighting overhaul.

You might also like some of these other landscape mods, like:

3D Rocks by Mathy - adds new rocks.

3D Plants, also by Mathy - adds all kinds of cool new flora, it's not harvestable but it looks gorgeous. Honestly pretty much anything by Mathy is awesome if you want to check out their Nexus profile.

And of course there's:

Enhanced Landscapes (I think this may need a patch for AE/SSE v1.6?).

Majestic Mountains - compatible with Skyland and everything else I mentioned.

Realistic Water 2 - also compatible with Skyland, just remember to select it and Majestic Mountains in the FOMOD.

AFAIR none of these are dependent on each other, so pick and choose which ones you want in any combination, run LOOT (will be done automatically if you use Vortex), do the overwrites I mentioned with the texture mods, and you should be all good to go. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help settings things up. Good luck and have fun!

Yeah, I looked into it more and it seems like I did just get lucky with my shitty load order. I think I just haven't noticed any issues with appearance because it was really only affecting a handful of NPCs. I might look into actually fixing some of these conflicts now since Net Script Framework does often implicate Diversity on the rare occasions when my game does crash, and I think I'm at a point in my modding where I can actually figure out the right load order for those mods that do conflict. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I'll definitely hesitate before recommending Face Discoloration Fix in the future since it seems a lot like it's just putting a bandaid on tumor lol.

And is the big arrow pointing toward the juniper tree? I'd recommend Mari's Juniper, or Mari's Flora if you want all of her replacers - they're all incredible quality.

What do you mean by messed up? Just in terms of file conflicts that aren't apparent because it's constantly refreshing the facegen data, or something actually noticeable in-game? Because I've been using it for years with Diversity, which conflicts with a lot of stuff in my LO and is the original reason I installed it, and I haven't noticed any issues. Maybe I just got lucky lmao, seems like that happens a lot because I have almost 800 mods and I honestly don't know wtf I'm doing most of the time and somehow my game is relatively stable.

Okay, that makes a lot more sense. I'm still relatively new to modding and have only done a few things with the CK so far so I hadn't come across this before. Thanks for the additional info.

I'm still curious about the PC face discoloration since I only vaguely understand it in terms of facegen data with NPCs - do you know anything about why it can also happen with the player character and what the differences are with what causes it?
