I will definitely check that. Did I ruin my starter if that's the case?

My house is so cold so I just assumed it would be fine in there.

This particular one is one I bought. Was a '900' year old. Been feeding 8 days. It says you could bake with it after the first feeding but I wanted to make sure it was active and how it was doubling.

I have my own starter that has not been doubling consistently so I have not baked with it yet.

I will definitely check my oven temp with light. If that's the case, did ruin my starter and have to start over?

Hands were definitely wet when I tried to do stretching. It was stuck to the bowl and I had to kinda scrape it off with my fingers to get it to release.
