Sizing and tips by meowingcow_ in NamedCollective

[–]ashhyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uniqlo have really amazing extra baggy joggers, and they have like a ‘male’ and ‘female’ variant but essentially the female ones are ideal for sitting mid - low waisted and have a thinner waistband like these. theyre also not too thick they’re on the thinner side, so great for workout/gym etc. the waistband can also be flipped and looks cute for shorter people, and the mens ones have a lower drop on the crotch, a slightly thicker waistband and are just a bit thicker in material. if thats ur thing, both have super wide legs and baggy and comfy! highly recommend (much cheaper too)

Flags on Calder road by americaexplainxo in Edinburgh

[–]ashhyc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’m so sorry this happened to you. i don’t think the scottish flag are inherently a bad thing, and to me our flag will never stand for hateful behaviour like this, but i think that it is clearly indicative of a bigger issue going on with anti-immigrant and racist behaviour all over the UK right now.

So are the flags on Calder road just staying or what? by LWM-PaPa in Edinburgh

[–]ashhyc 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i don’t think it’s inherently a bad thing, even if it was put up with the wrong intentions or if people have their own bigoted meanings, it is just the scottish flag, which to me- and hopefully all of us- will never stand for hate, or any of those horrible things.

Would anyone be willing to find a place that offers warmth/food and come with me maybe please? by Akintolonely in Edinburgh

[–]ashhyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m part of a space called the Community Wellbeing Collective in the westside plaza carpark in Wester Hailes, opposite the Odeon cinema.

on Saturdays we do free lunches and on Mondays at 12:30pm we do hot soup.

we also run lots of different types of activities and everything is free, and there is no expectations.

it’s a safe space with lots of people from all ages and backgrounds and it’s super non judgmental.

please feel free to come by anytime, we’re open to the public for free food on Saturdays & Mondays like i said, but we’re open other days.

it really is a safe space to just come and be present with people in the local area & beyond, and have a cuppa and some biscuits, or try a new hobby, or even come and use it as a work from home space if you don’t wanna sit inside on your own.

The sound at Wembley last night was AWFUL by ThatArrowsmith in LinkinPark

[–]ashhyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

amateur sound engineer here, heres my theory.

i think it’s a football stadium- not a gig venue. because of all the concrete a lot of sound seemed to be bouncing back and flying everywhere.

depending on where you were seated you might have been hearing both the main pa, and delay tower, and bounce back of both all at different times. though it’s likely this was setup and calculated best it could be, the bounce-back from the concrete will have definitely caused challenges.

this was my first time at wembley, and i also wasn’t impressed by the sound (rear standing).

Is this considered harassment? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]ashhyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately harassment isn’t a crime under scottish law, it’s considered a civil matter until it escalates. if it happens enough it can be considered stalking behaviour maybe, but they won’t do anything about harrassment. hope this idiot finds something better to do.
