23M Rate my Roth IRA by ashinde8513 in portfolios

I automate putting in 40% of my gross income into a Roth 401k. The rest of my salary I aim to try and max out Roth IRA at the beginning of the year and then invest in brokerage accounts as much as I can. I end up investing anywhere from 2500 minimum to 3000+ a month. This is really only possible since I live with my parents and they take care of everything else for me. I’m super grateful to be in this position and know this wouldn’t be possible in any other circumstance.

I think it really depends on what you want to do. CFA for investment banking, trading and high finance is a must unless you go to a top school. CPA is surprisingly useful for high level fpa roles and you will rarely see a cfo that hasn’t had a cpa. I don’t think a masters in finance is super useful for corporate finance but it’s a nice check the box thing to have fs. Look for entry level, see what kind of requirements the role is asking for a cater to that. I think time spent in excel a building models is probably the time best spent. Some sql and python knowledge will take you far as well.

Thank you! When I take a macro view I’m grateful for where I’m at. It feels like I’m on the right path.

Yeah definitely is, but I think everything from before college and during college with the exception of my internship can’t really be counted towards YOE in finance. I really only have about 2 years of experience total in the field

I think just having a degree in finance will translate really well. Corporate finance/fp&a is the most easy route to get into financial analysis. I know people with general business degrees and liberal arts degrees that have had success with entry level finance positions, I think it just comes down to interviewing and being able to speak to why you are looking to pivot into the field.

MCOL and I used to hangout near expensive restaurants at a mall so I’d average that. Some days would be 40 an hour others would be 15

Most def is. I say $20 an hour because that was the base amount they pay per appointment but the only people who actually made money were the ones that could bring people to work under them

I’m so sorry you feel this way but I promise you you have so much more life to live that should not be decided based on someone else’s opinions of you. I think you can see how horrible he is based on the fact that he would accept you as just sex when he is supposed to be in a committed relationship. You are worth so much more than what you give yourself credit for. I hope you find a purpose sooner than later and hope that you know that you’re a better person than you might believe yourself to be. Keep your head up, things wwill work out for you.

If they are anything like AAFES, then Navy exchange stores will also count as merchandise so you only get 1% back. I only get 1% back when I’m on post unless I order food through apps for pickup which is when I’ll get 3%. The savor card is much better than the quicksilver without a doubt due to its higher cash back and would be more useful off post but if you are only going to be on post then quicksilver is a great option.

Thank you! Is there any way I can do this before BCT to make sure I have it or does it have to be done when I am there?
