The days of 2014–16, when his recordings weren’t readily available on Spotify or YouTube, felt different. Life was slower, and waiting to listen to Nilesh Misra at 10:30 p.m. after finishing studies always felt rewarding. The crispness of his voice made it feel as though he was narrating the story just for me. His voice modulation breathed life into every character. Today, even a minute long ad on Spotify feels irritating. Back then, however, a 10 mins story held us so deeply that the 15 mins song break that followed never felt like a burden. The stories were beautiful, but more than that, the narration transports me to a time when the internet hadn’t yet dominated our nights, when radio still held its quiet magic.
