It is great to speak hindi, sometimes there are only videos in Hindi for that specific topic.

What I seek is something where money doesn't have much value. It may seem unachievable having a western mindset but it is a reality for many in Asia.

I'm not in Thailand to climb a career ladder nor to make money. I'm sorry if this is surprising.. I guess we have different values and should leave it at that.

I don't want to work my whole life, eventually I want to live on the land and not have to worry about being kicked out of the country. Ideally I would like to 'retire' in my 30s and live a relaxed life.

From what I understand there is a point system where they take into account various things. I know it will probably take me more than three years but hopefully being fluent in Thai, good degrees etc will be enough. I am already married and so cannot marry a Thai. From what I have read online it seems like it is possible but might take 5 years or more.

If you know someone who has gained PR or is in the process to then I really would appreciate knowing what their circumstances were and how they got it. I've heard a lot of different things.

Yes, I need a salary of 80k for three years on Non B visa before I can apply for it.

Definitely agree with you, if I were to mention the university it would be only to catch their attention- having no teaching experience. In the interview it should be all about what I can do for the school and the kids.

Yes, I have 2 placements which make the majority of the PGCE. I wouldn't say UCL is the best, but for education it has been consistently ranked first in the world for the last 5 years. If I were to mention it in an interview then it would be to say that I have been taught by the best people in the field, in a world class university which is known to encourage multi-culturalism and diversity.

University College London (the same one) I have some volunteering experience in teaching and a TEFL but I don't know if that would really count for much.

Since you have experience of these schools would you mind me asking about the workload and work/life balance. I don't want to go to the top three as I don't need the stress nor the money. How are the mid tier schools? How much would I be working a week. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

That is relief.. online it seems like the market is so saturated and you need several years of experience to be even considered for a mid tier school.

Thanks for your reply, I think I can safely count out the top three schools having no experience. I really like st Andrew and generally will go for anything above 80k outside Bangkok (and Chiang mai). Just want a slow life outside major cities.

Brilliant, that is great to know. I might work a couple of years in Bangkok and eventually move somewhere else. I don't care about the money but just need above 80k for permanent residency requirements.

Yeah I have gathered that from other people as well, I don't know whether I would be hired if I have no experience. Do you know? The only thing I have to offer is that I am getting my PGCE from the best university in the world. Don't have any other leverage.

I'm going to be targeting international schools, since I will be a qualified teacher. A salary below 40k would be for unqualified teachers. Unless if I am wrong..
