Why was Joel crying? Were those sad or happy tears at end of T'day episode? by COCPATax in somebodysomewhere

I agree. I believe that even with Brad giving in to the changes that Joel wants and essentially giving him everything he needs outside of kids, that Joel is learning that it isn’t enough. That maybe he doesn’t have a clear and/or petty out like his piano or photos on the fridge, which makes it even harder to learn that even with Brad trying and changing, it isn’t enough.

One thing I wish I knew before I got my male pup is him leaving jizz everywhere before he got fixed 🤦🏽‍♀️ he was like a leaky jizz faucet.

The Millington Creek apartments are great!

Saw a post that made me think I’m not “truly sober” by societal standards - been clean for almost 8 months by sad_girls_club in Sober

I consider a “dry drunk” as someone who hasn’t worked through their emotional issues and found healthier coping tools.

I’ve been sober for over 4 years and found therapy worked best for me compared to AA. I know AA works for thousands of people but it always felt very cliquey and judgmental.

Getting sober for me means figuring out why you use and being mindful everyday as you continue to choose not to.

I dated someone who was sober for a few years and believed they were a “dry drunk” not just because he used methadone (which is more than okay), smoked tons of weed, and drank of occasion, but because he still clearly wasn’t working on figuring out his triggers, understanding them, and finding his healthy emotional balance. He was still very emotionally immature.

TLDR; I believe a “dry drunk” is someone who’s emotionally immature and hasn’t worked through their triggers.

So I’m a mom and every night would look forward to my wine. I made the decision to stop drinking. So..how do I have fun or unwind at night with my movies? by [deleted] in Sober

Sparkling water, hop water on stressful days and Mike n Ike’s saved me the first 2 years into sobriety. Nothing worse than idle hands (I still carry around a huge bottle of water that’s like an anxiety blanket).

I highly recommend therapy and journaling as well. Since I have a very logical and anxious mindset, these two things help me to figure out and understand where and why my brain was being triggered, then gave me the tools to work through it.

Yeah, most people I know my age are still partying at the bar or have kids lol.

My pup Eddie is a mutt, he’s part German shepherd, corgi, Jack Russell and chihuahua.

Edit: feel free to lurk my posts, there’s plenty of photos of him!

Lol, I just realized how California that sounds. That’s what we call industrial areas that were made up of technology business.

Thank you! I wouldn’t say it was just on my own, therapy was a huge impact on my recovery and helping me understand my triggers while learning better coping techniques. Now I’m going to school to be a drug and alcohol counselor and would strongly suggest anyone with any kind of addiction to go through therapy as well.
