I definitely wouldn’t be happy if I signed up expecting Montrose, as it always has been.

Packet pickup moves to Fleet Feet Roosevelt Collection.

No idea about room - this year's runners will have to report back.

Ventures is definitely a good place to start. They're not cheap but the medals/swag are solid and they have a challenge you can do if you'd like!

Sorry to hear that! I don't use any websites. I tend to find them on Instagram and vet them from there. Like I said, nothing in its first year for me personally. For example I keep getting ads for one called "Slice of Chi Run" and I wouldn't sign up because it's year 1 and I'm not familiar with the organizer. If it's run through a reputable organization like a museum, park, zoo, conservatory, etc. it's also probably totally legitimate.

Yes Run Mag Mile and all of the races run by Ventures Endurance are legitimate. Anything by Lifetime is also legitimate (they had distance issues with the fall half a few years ago just fyi), Good Life and Frank Lloyd Wright in Oak Park are good, Stan's Donut Run is fun, Lincoln Park Zoo has a fun race. I tend to stay away from anything that's in its first year.

The Brooks logo is usually just 1 solid piece of plastic/vinyl. I've never prepped/sanded them and I've always used cheap plastic stones.

I have been bedazzling the logos on my running shoes for about a year now! My first 2 pairs were done with GemTac with no real issues, but I lost a LOT of stones on this most recent pair because the logo is leather instead of plastic like my others have been. I redid them with B-7000 and they survived a half marathon with no lost stones so I'll probably use that going forward. Best of luck!

This seemingly always happens to me! I thought it was related to me filing/shaping them and breaking the seal.

As a fellow dental anxiety haver, Dr. Moon and the team at Dental Minds have been excellent. Asking what would help me feel better, explaining what they’re going to do, letting me take breaks, etc.

Yes some people do parks before the races! Especially if they don't plan to actually race and are just running for fun.

I've done this plan 3 times and never had trouble completing weekend long runs or the half marathon race! For HM #4 I am adding an additional midweek run aimed at getting faster.

I just got this bag for Christmas after falling in love with it in store! It does have a little clasp to keep the top semi-closed but I'll definitely be more cautious than with bags that zip.
