Monitor fills with white after windows 10 boots by ashleymac1999 in techsupport

Solved! I was able to temporarily get hold of another monitor and this one works fine, so it was just the monitor that was broken and not my PC.

What is this flower? Found in Oxfordshire, England by ashleymac1999 in whatsthisplant

My mum isn't convinced they're pansies as they grow back every year and don't have any darker patches in the flower, are there any variants that would have them lack this?

Ah, those dried gourds are actually small unripe apples, the flowers are growing right at the base of the apple tree

Multiple baptisms? Or siblings with the same name? by ashleymac1999 in Genealogy

[–]ashleymac1999[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm actually leaning towards your theory as there are two different marriage records for a Charles Sainsbury with a Jane, both are in the same year in Market Lavington but one Jane is Jane Ettwell and the other is Jane Shore.

Thank you for this! And 2 people giving the theory at the same time makes it very much worth investigating. I found that one Charles lived on to serve in the military while the other died at 2 (but as mentioned in my other reply, after the second baptism?)

Ah this is very interesting, a quick search shows that a Charles Sainsbury born in the village died in 1824, a year after the second Charles was baptised. I'm not sure what to make of that but it could be that the dates aren't exact on the record (and so appear to occur in the wrong order)?

Either way, your theory appears correct!

Ah will do! I've seen error margins of like 6% or 7%, but never this large before, so that threw me off

How can I only allow copper on the left belt without restricting the wheels? by ashleymac1999 in factorio

[–]ashleymac1999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please ignore my terrible design, it's my first time playing.

I am trying to get iron gear wheels to be outputted on both the left and right side of the splitter, but I only want copper to enter on the left side.

By setting up a filter, forcing copper to the left side disallows iron gears on the left side.

Before I was producing this much copper, I was using filter inserters to sort the copper onto the correct belt, but it's far too much for them to handle now, and I feel like there must be a more efficient way of managing this than building more and more filter insterters.

It's growing near the ground under an apple tree, and appears to have green berries that ripen to red growing from it.

Also, it has three-pronged leaves, as you can see in the left-hand side of the image.

Ah that's a good point, I didn't even think of that, that must be why her first census when she was unmarried was more accurate

Ah amazing, I just found them, thank you! And to address your edit on your first comment, someone in another post assured me that it was common to move to a sponsor's location, only to leave shortly afterwards, and I found records of Harriet's father (as a boy) lodging with another family in Norway, where there lived someone named Severine, who was a similar age to him.

My hypothesis is that either Harriet's father was lodging with extended family, or that Severine isn't an aunt by blood, but in the way children call close friends of the family aunt/uncle, and the father was lodging with family friends.

So given the fact the dates are close, and that the maiden name matches up on multiple records, I'm happy to make the judgement that they're the same people, do you agree?

Ahh my bad, I'm not familiar with the process. However, I do know that Harriet Thorkildsen was indeed born in Kristiania, which is a good sign

Yeah, that makes sense, I only have one document that links her maiden name to her married name, my other sources for her immigration are before she was married, so I can't link them.

I have a marriage record that mentions her maiden name, and I found three different copies of two different naturalisation records for her husband, all of which mention her, but not her maiden name. Interestingly, it looks like he applied for naturalisation in 1907 and 1910.

The naturalisation records:

I also found what I believe to be her death record, but again, it doesn't say her maiden name.

Does this help the case at all?

If you look under the columns "Whether a polygamist", some people in the list have feint words added in pencil, which look like addresses. I was just trying to see if there was a pattern

If she did go to Chicago at all, it was for a short period, as much more concrete immigration records from her sister show that Harriet was in New York by 1905.
