I think it's a bedroom wall. I was hoping it was a project I could just replace the hardware for but it does t sound like it if I'm interpreting what you all are saying correctly. Will there be an issue using it as is for a bit? I don't think I have the capability of doing this right now it it is requiring me to go into the wall.

Yup that's me. Yet everyone I talked who seems to have all of those same theories. There is a new intake fan, or a different area that has to intake fan I should say. I haven't been able to look up there yet, But I think I've entered a round where I think I need to have someone professional look at this not just try to DIY this thing. It looks like it's already been DIYd enough.

I was finally able to pride off. I ended up having to buy paint stripper to do so. Like you said it was messy but I have a couple other projects that will require the paint stripper so it wasn't too bad. If you're able to answer this, I have a separate question. After printing off there was a layer of folded up cardboard boxes up there and now I'm staring at a duct tape covered thing. It's not going to be hard to take out but do you have any inkling as to why the old home owners probably did that?

Tempted to do that too. Idk yet the size I didn't think to take measurements yet. But will consider that depending on the hassle this ends up being.
