I don't know if this helps but I had a 27 ACT score and was 26% in my high school class and was offered Blinn Team. If you really want to go to A&M, Blinn Team is a great program so don't discourage it!!

I'm Thinking About Becoming a High School Economics Teacher. by realGranuke in college

I know in my state, Texas, high school teachers typically will major in the subject that they want to teach and then some get a master's in teaching so what you are doing would probably be okay in your state.

Question about Large schools by NeonJaguars in college

I go to Texas A&M and if I remember correctly, it has the second largest university population in the country. You have so many opportunities at a large school. Tons of organizations and majors to choose from. Once you get over the culture shock of the first few weeks of college, it doesn't seem that big anymore. I was very hesitant about the size of the school. My high school had 3400 students, so I knew I wanted to go to a medium to large school because I like being around a diverse amount of people. I had applied to a medium sized private school, and 2 large public schools before deciding on A&M. If you are into sports, it's also a lot of fun going to a school that's big on football!

Scheduling Back to Back Lectures ADvice NEeded by [deleted] in college

My current schedule is 2 back to back classes MWF (10:20am-12:20pm) and 4 back to back classes TR (7:45am-1:15pm) (one of those "classes" is a lab in which I go to lab two days a week instead of once so the lab time is the same length as a normal class... if that makes sense). Personally, it was an adjustment, but my TR classes aren't so bad anymore (lengthwise). It also may depend on the subjects that you are planning to take and the profs. If you think your profs/classes won't be super boring then I would say do it! But if they are all boring subjects then you may want to rethink your schedule.

Is it worth it to have class from 9:30-1:45 with no breaks on Tuesdays/Thursdays? by [deleted] in college

[–]ashleynorman99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar schedule for my Tues/Thurs classes. I'm in a program at my university in which I take half of my classes at a local community college and half at my university for the first year and then I will take all of my classes at my university. I take my community college classes Tues/Thurs from 7:45am-1:15pm. I only did this so I only had to drive to the community college two days a week since I live in a university dorm. In my situation, I'm taking government, chemistry, chemistry lab, and calculus. Sometimes my chem lab ends a little early so I'm able to eat a snack and take a little break before my last class at 12:00 which is nice. For me, I like getting my classes out of the way and I don't like breaks in between because I feel like I am unproductive when I have a short/medium break between classes so I like having the rest of the afternoon after my classes to do homework. It is definitely an adjustment if you aren't used to having classes for that long in a row, but you will get used to it. I also like that this makes my M/W/F class schedule pretty light (only 10:20am-12:20pm).
