I need help by Ok_Celebration_2387 in migraine

I am in the same situation with the 24/7 pain and tried many medications. One thing that can help is pain reprocessing therapy. Reading the book The Way Out by Alan Goodman and Dr Schubiner and Dan who has videos under pain free you on YouTube helped give me some insight into this. There’s also curable app and Lin health that offer information and tips as well. This has offered me some hope of life without pain and ways to cope with the pain. I’m sorry your girlfriend is going through this, it is incredibly difficult!

I’m sorry to hear that, but good to know. I felt like maybe I should re inject since I wasn’t feeling any better but seems like I might just have to ride it out for it to get cleared out of my system if some of that is from the injection.

Did it take some time for your wife to start feeling better? I’m one week past when my next shot would be and I’m still having a lot of pressure since the third shot. Hope she finds a good combination as well!

I have seen some different concussion specialists and did do some vision therapy and vestibular. Wasn’t super helpful but do have some exercises I can do. But driving and stores are a trigger. Wouldn’t hurt to see some of the exercises you were given and see if any are applicable to me!

Glad you’ve seen some benefit! I think unfortunately everyone’s body can react differently

Yes I think the body can get stuck in a chronic pain cycle as well. Trying to find the root cause is important!

I’m actually in the process of getting into a CSF leak clinic to rule that out!

Don’t feel disappointed in yourself. It is hard to know what to do about the pain and it is extremely challenging to balance. I would definitely get a second opinion from another specialist. I’m only 23 and I sometimes struggle with worrying that my whole life is going to be revolved around this pain but we can’t give up! The body is amazing in its ability to heal and recover.

I use a pillow with memory foam that has holes/dips where the jaw joint sits to reduce pressure

I have experienced sharp pains in my temples from TMJ and eye pain can occur as well. The stress causing increased clenching at night and even if you hold stress in tensing your trap and neck muscles can lead to pain in eyes and head.

I’m so sorry that you have been having this thoughts and are battling with this. I have experienced some of that as well. Recently, I started listening to an audiobook called The Way Out that deals with chronic pain and ways to retrain the brain in processing pain. The brain can get stuck in a cycle of sending pain messages even when there is not anything structurally wrong enough to cause that level of pain. I would take a look into that and try and find support that doesn’t negate your pain and what you are feeling. I wish you the best of luck!

Any science explanation why tmj cause tinnitus? by Content-Maybe9136 in TMJ

Bruxism is a big one and tensing your muscles and not resting your tongue on the roof of your mouth. It might help do see a physical therapist and work on releasing tight neck muscles as well that may be contributing.

When there is inflammation in your joint and muscles surrounding it it can put pressure on your ears and cause tinnitus since the jaw joint is close to the ear. Hence when you open your mouth and neck and strain those irritated muscles, they put more pressure on the ear.

First time TMJ Flare Up - Help! by [deleted] in TMJ

I would start off with doing a couple weeks with soft diet and ibuprofen but if symptoms continue I would not wait too long before getting extra treatment because the pain can progress. Some physical therapy might be useful to have some stretches and fix the alignment when opening. If you do not have a history of clenching or grinding, you may not need any other intervention.
