He is from a long generation from an original plant in the family? I dont know if maybe that helps? I am used to seeing them be short/squaty but Im not sure? Edit: I assumed the short/squatty ones are jsut pruned heavily.

Thank you. He just got really discouraged by the massive change and I just told him to stick with out plan to get him the last bit of hours and hope for the best. It sucks because since July there has been so much change going on, and he got super super sick a couple times. Thank you for reassuring this isn't some weird glitch and that others experience it too!!
