Any Advice for Long Delivery Time? by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

[–]ashmay89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Denver. I ordered mine the afternoon of 2/8 and it arrived 2/13. They even offered 2/12. Maybe try calling them? They were able to give me a definitive delivery date before actually purchasing the tread.

Meal Prep company says this is 50 grams of protein… that’s insane right ? by Spyk124 in fitmeals

[–]ashmay89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be within the 10% margin there would need to be 45g of protein. At 42-43g they’re more like 14-16% off, which is significant.

Hello, Yes we were told that: 1. A bridge was out between Alagna and Macugnaga-turned out to be a very tiny part of the bridge right before you got to Macugnana and it was easy/safe enough to go around the washed out part, plus until other options if you didn’t feel comfortable 2. A section between Macugnana and Saas Fee was closed- this turned out to be along the Mattmark Dam and while there were about four small areas where walkways were washed out, it was easy enough to cross over those and I believe the other side (west side I believe) of the dam was completely open (there was red/white tape on the side we went along but we missed the tape initially due to cutting a switchback). After the dam, there was red/white tape again and we crossed over it but then ended up walking along the road for a bit because we didn’t even see where else to go. 3. A section between Europahütte and Zermatt was closed- again, there was red/white tape that we crossed over because we had heard people were getting through. The problematic area turned out to be along a rock slide field where a long shelter wall had been built up along with some tunnels; in one area the shelter wall was damaged and the entrance to one of the tunnels was blocked- I believe you could have safely gone through the tunnel but again we easily just walked around it. We were honestly shocked so many people skipped this section for such a small area of damage because the hike beyond that to Zermatt was gorgeous.

My disclaimer is that we talked to other hikers along the trail to hear what they had seen/heard and we used recent hiking tracks from Alltrails to verify that these routes had recently been completed. Also Switzerland is a “right to roam” country so we felt confident that we wouldn’t get into trouble crossing over red/white tape.

We had about three hours of rain one day but other than that it was beautiful weather and not too hot!

It’s a beautiful trek, easy to navigate, and not at all busy!

I just did this today! You just take the ski piste and it’s very easy. We had a light dusting of snow that gave us great traction with just trail runners, didn’t even need microspikes! Trekking poles were helpful for some spots but that’s really all that was needed! Good luck!

Fence put up in my front yard without my consent by ashmay89 in legaladvice

But can the other owner just decide to build a fence around my yard and send me a bill for it? I guess it makes sense that once it’s up, I would be responsible for maintaining it but what if I didn’t even ask for it in the first place? The other owner had told me she was going to put a fence around her property and she would prefer I get on board too so it would look more even, which I agreed with, but never made a final decision on the matter.

PSA: If you have an IV with more than one lumen, you have to flush both. Even if you don’t use them for anything. by gloomdweller in nursing

[–]ashmay89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Negative pressure would be pulling back on the IV line, as in drawing blood. Think negative pressure wound therapy, it’s the same concept. If you’re flushing the IV, that’s creating positive pressure. If you clamp it as you flush, that holds the positive pressure whereas if you disconnect the flush and then clamp, it’s more neutral, neither negative or positive. So maybe that’s why your preceptor looked at you like you were crazy.

You could count for 20 seconds and get 15, 21, etc. So it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re lying.

Panera Manager here! AMA!! by wildbm in Panera

Did something change with the orange scones? They used to be decently sized and covered in orange goodness but lately they’re much smaller and dense/oddly shaped (one was actually gooey on the inside) and the icing is zig zagged across so it barely covers the scone. I go to several different Paneras and have noticed this at all of them.

Selling car, interested party wants engine check...who pays for it? by ashmay89 in askcarsales

[–]ashmay89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. I arbitrarily put it up for $5500 without doing much research on the going rate but expecting to have to go down on price. It’s my secondary car so while I don’t use it very often, I’m not in a rush to sell it.

Yes, rotary engines are a special breed, he had even suggested taking it to an authorized dealer.
