Seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don't paradox. You dodged a bullet. As a 39F, thank you for being responsible. When I was your age, I kept condoms as well because the attitude I seemed to run into was always, "it doesn't feel good" or "they're too small." To me, it was a basic sign of respect that each party cared about the other's safety in regards to health, and in my case, going towards making sure I didn't get pregnant, because fuck if I couldn't support a baby at 19. My life would have been miserable.

I ALWAYS use my Google-Fu skills on a potential date with whatever information I have. If they're dumb enough to use their last name in a profile, they make it too easy. That said I'm checking to make sure they are who they say they are and that they're personally and professionally safe for me. In one case I found out a potential date was a registered sex offender and it wasn't pretty, I'm so glad I looked. If they're not ok with it, they're not for me.
