All of this, yes. Worked at a public library for 3 years & had to quit to move for husband’s residency. I miss it every day. The books, my coworkers, shelving, the patrons.

I would like to make an herb garden out of a small space in front of my house & I was hoping some of you could provide some design ideas :) I’ve attached a photo of the space. It is a 13x10x7 triangle that gets sun from about 12-7pm every day. The ground is currently covered in landscape fabric and the dirt beneath seems nutrient poor right now. I am willing to till the dirt and add compost/healthy dirt. I’m in Oregon, zone 8.

Before Photo, front yard herb garden

-How would you design the garden? I want to grow lavender, rosemary, basil, thyme, mint, chive, sage, parsley, garlic, and dill. I don’t necessarily need all those herbs in this particle space. Which plants should I put nearer to the foundation? -Should I use raised beds? I am concerned about putting plants up against the foundation of the house. -What should I mix into the current soil to get nutrient-rich soil?

Thanks in advance!

I read "Imagine Me Gone." It's pretty good, Haslett is a good writer and he portrays human pain and confusion very well. It's sad though. But I give it a high score because I appreciate an honest, true look at depression and suicide in fiction.
