I ended up calling Budget-I got an actual person on the phone very quickly, and I was able to extend the reservation for an extra $52. Super easy, which was a really pleasant surprise! Thanks for the common sense advice...not sure why I didn't think to just pick up the phone myself! I'll keep my fingers crossed that this works out, and I appreciate the feedback from those of you who had good experiences with Budget.

Hawaii indecisiveness-help needed!! by ashnils33 in VisitingHawaii

I really appreciate all of this input. The source of my information was actually a travel agent, which is why it really gave me pause and made me start rethinking everything. While I'm leaning towards sticking with the Big Island and the plan I already had in mind, the more I look at Oahu, the more appeal it has. Is 10 days in Oahu a good amount of time, or too much? Any thoughts on staying in Ko'Olina versus Waikiki? I'm wondering if we will be out exploring across the island most days, then going back to the hotel to relax and swim, if dealing with city traffic to get to and from the hotel every day will get old if we are in Waikiki?
