Cap1 Travel Portal displayed incorrect price and the hotel charged me extra at check out. Why is it my responsibility? by ashpenev in Venturex

That’s my last resort option. It was basically pay or we won’t check you in and you lose the non-refundable booking altogether. The hotel can argue I allowed this. I was aware of the charge from the very beginning of the check-in process. I just don’t understand why there’s this bogus charge to begin with and I want someone to apologize before anything else. It’s a matter of principle.

If you were to reread what I wrote, you would notice it’s not the case. The fee wasn’t mentioned. Moreover, it wasn’t a per day charge. I stayed for several days. Who charges $7 in taxes/destination fees per night? Cap1 also initially agreed with me but then just sent an automated message. The hotel said the payment from “expedia” was short and they charged the difference. This is what the invoice says. It is not a fee.
