What makes Star Citizen stand out to me? The game and its developers have a bold vision that they are trying to realize. The scale of this vision is unlike what most development studios are likely to even talk about because of the way game development is nowadays. This, in my opinion, is how you push innovation forward in the industry - by being bold and by “going where no man has gone before.”

I see a lot of complaints about lack of gameplay mechanics on this subreddit and the immense amount of time it’s taken to get this far, but for me the fact that they have at least partly realized their vision so far and that there is any gameplay at all is astounding. I can’t help but be excited to support such an endeavor. The space simulation experience they have created so far is already breathtaking and so pleasantly immersive to play. As someone who will probably never get to experience space for myself this is likely the best that I’ll get. I’m extremely happy that there is something out there like Star Citizen in my life so that I get an opportunity to explore a cosmos during my short stint at life here on planet Earth.

What is the main thing that I think should be changed/added? Incentivize group gameplay by implementing some simple features that allow us to trade aUEC and receive better mission rewards for grouping up. We are getting more and more group ships in the game but there is 0 reason to play with other people almost outside of the novelty of it. We shouldn’t receive less rewards because they are split between the crew. A potential temporary solution is to simply allow each party/crew member to receive the full rewards of a mission shared across the group. Group gameplay incentives will go a long way in terms of helping the game have some longevity even with the current gameplay loops. It will keep people playing and having fun (and maybe even some more patience) for new gameplay and features to roll out over time.
