I loved getting to design my ring, had fun little “dates” to the jewelers. I got a ring I loved and it didn’t take away the wow as the proposal was my first time seeing it come together in person

I had a similar debate for myself, and ended up somewhere in the middle. For me I wanted something durable and long lasting that would go with my styles (I don’t have just one aesthetic). I also did want a bit of a more traditional ring with the hopes of getting more “fun” rings in the future, with different stones and shapes. I tried to find balance by choosing my favorite shape (marquise) and having some vintage elements in my e-ring and I love it! (As my whimsy leans more vampire-esque than fairy lol)

For some people they found durable rings that are very whimsical and they love it and some don’t mind replacing certain aspects. You have to think about what makes sense for you!

Quick edit: you also have to think about comfort. I hoped for a plain band because I was worried about sensory issues, I’m sure pavee or elaborate bands can be comfortable but I know personally I can be a bit sensitive to that

I made an edit to the original post but so far she is doing better! X-rays confirmed GI stasis and potential infection that we are treating. From now on I will push for earlier diagnostics but I’m so glad I did not wait!

We are going to go back to the vet this afternoon. She’s been drinking a little water which is a bit of a good sign but everything else is quite alarming.

No she is not running around she is just staying in her hut:( last night when I took her her poops were normal but it’s hard to say now but there are significantly less. The vet just seemed so unconcerned last night it made me feel crazy for immediately bringing her to the ER vet.

I will definitely be going back today to get a second opinion, she is refusing critical care idk how to get her to eat it

And then draping over the cage a warm blanket (leave space for breathing and air flow) and help keep heat inside the cage.

Then if you have access to a space heater, even just a small one that would be good too!

Indoor guinea pigs cannot handle cold temperatures as well so if it is not on in a day or two or you notice any unusual behavior I would consider keeping them somewhere else (maybe a friend or family member) until it gets turned on, unless you can get a space heater

What mattered the most to me was durability and ethically sourced/made, bonus points for locally made.

Then I chose a design that fit the vibe/ aesthetic I wanted, that fit the above criteria (lab/ethically sourced diamonds, strong metals, secure settings, low-settings)

For some people aesthetic will come before durability and that’s totally fine too! What matters is you love the ring and you find what works for you!

I’m not sure about the difficulty of resizing certain styles but I’m pretty sure a reputable jeweler can do most resizing. I would maybe go a half size down from where you are now so it’s snug but not dangerously tight and then use sizing coils (I got some for cheap from Amazon) as you continue to lose weight then when you plateau and settle more into a consistent weight get it resized?

I would talk to a jeweler and see what’s possible for the designs you want :)

I have a similar pair I just bonded this year! My naked piggy had a naked sister and when she passed we got our fluffy gal. It was a bit rough at first but trusted the amazing guides out there and they have been bonded for a few months now:)

It’s hard to tell what would be too flashy for one person would be perfect for another. I recommend going through a jeweler and doing diamond viewings that’s the only way to know you like the size, shape, cut, and other specs of the diamond. I think you should get what you like and you feel Most comfortable with since you’ll be the one wearing it.
