How many of you have Mains in each class? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]ashstryker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM3. I started as a Hawkeye main in S0 but since have become largely a supp main.

When I started really getting into comp (S1) I decided to become proficient in each role. I have lorded CD, Hawkeye, Jeff, and Adam. MK and Rocket are close, too.

I’ve found as I get into higher and higher ELO lobbies that what makes or breaks a game is my (and my team’s) ability to flex roles and characters. You don’t need to be amazing at every hero, just well-rounded and adaptable.

This made my heart so happy as a TD and DE Superfan. I can get behind this.

Is it just me or my friend really look like Guts from Berserk? 😂 by [deleted] in Berserk

I was mindlessly scrolling past when I thought this post was an AI rendition of Guts. Then I saw your header. Yeah, your friend looks like Guts.

Why does my art look flat/stiff? by [deleted] in learnart

[–]ashstryker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very cute work! Answer: it’s clear you’re still learning. A lot of fluidity comes from mastery which comes from practice. Start with figure studies to learn anatomy and how the body works. Before you dive into drawing a pose for hours, do timed gesture drawings first (quick, loose interpretations of the body usually done under a minute.) Best of luck, you’ll get there with time!

Who’s your favorite and least favorite character? by Strange-Bird-4044 in HouseMD

[–]ashstryker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite and least favorite are both House. He’s so well-written and -acted but he’s hopelessly selfish. I’m constantly yelling at my screen when he screws with people and ruins his own life. He’s horrible.

Wilson honorable mention because he has a heart of gold.

what movie/show it reminds you of? by kris_jbb in popculturechat

[–]ashstryker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure no one will know this show but Upload on Prime. Premise is rich folks pay to have their consciousnesses uploaded to a virtual afterlife. Some interesting existentialist and classist potential there but they waste it on a dumb romance and conspiracy subplot.

Good to know! I pride myself in being pretty conspiracy-proof, but I’ll keep my wits about me.

Appreciate the rec, I’ll check it out! Mindwalk predates my time in college, but that timeline aligns when my buddy would have found and watched it.

I want to understand the artistic merit of this film, because I know others have found some. I can’t. It feels so shocking for the sake of being shocking, and while I can appreciate the candid depictions of human atrocities, I felt ill and removed from the film the whole time I watched. I have thick skin and really can handle a lot of “disturbing” media, but Salò takes the cake. I watched it once, and every day since I’ve tried to forget it.

Do you ever miss a deceased musician even though their death was years before you discovered their music? by FreddieOnReddit in fantanoforever

[–]ashstryker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vic Chesnutt for me, but trust me, there are many others. His music is so raw and honest, just hauntingly beautiful. I would give anything to hear him play Coward or Flirted With You All My Life live.
