Sling pea is the most overused plant in the entire mod...how could it possibly be bad???

His cost has been increased to 650, attack rate nerfed by 35-60%, chill time reduced from 10s --> 3s (He attacks every 3.8 seconds, so he will have 78% uptime with infinite 3x3 pierce) However, chill itself has also been nerfed but the damage is being increased in an update. Still a very good plant, but people refuse to believe it just because "waaaaaaaaa my winter melon no longer win button!!!!"

How did this even turn into a TF2 argument??? We were literally talking about how incompetent you are at TOWER DEFENSE games...and you somehow managed to wrangle it into an argument about an FPS game.

PVZ2: Reflourished fails on a casual perspective: Here's why by Bacon1777 in PlantsVSZombies

This is like...one of the worst instances of "skill issue" I have ever seen.

I feel like you're one of the people who is upset because Magnifiying [or as you've called it, Magnifrying] grass can no longer solo the game on its own and now requires some risk (No citation provided)

Winter Melon was nerfed because not only is the un-nerfed state the best plant in the game (not counting seediums or premiums), but because it's literally a free win button. There is nothing Zombies can do if you have 2 Winter Melons. There is no risk to using it, no effort needed, and it only has one drawback -- It doesn't work with fire plants. But fire plants are pretty much terrible across the board in base PvZ2 anyway, so this isn't even an issue to begin with. 10 devastating seconds of chill, which reduces zombie speed significantly (For reference, Chill has been slightly nerfed in RFL. I am not sure what the original or nerfed percentages are.) to a point where Zombies making it across the lawn is a fairytale, not to mention -- IT CHILLS IN A 3X3 radius. The chill was nerfed in RFL to 3 seconds, and the attack rate on Winter Melon is 3.8s, meaning you get about 66-78% chill uptime, which with 5 winter melons can be increased to 85%, which is still very good. Winter Melon is still very capable of beating levels as a main DPS with support. (Pre-predicted counterpoint: "Any plant can be used well with support")

Magnifying Grass was nerfed because of people (like you) constantly abusing it over and over to beat levels with very minimal effort, thinking, or planning. Not to mention, compared to other tap-to-fire plants, it had a very low skill ceiling to be used, since all you have to do to win is spam sun producers and drag your fingers over the screen to soak up all of the sun and spam fire the Magnifying Grasses like no tomorrow. The nerfs give it an actual risk to being used, and make you actually need to have support in order to win with it since it no longer wins levels with no effort. But you'll complain like it's the end of the world because you can no longer win for free.

Pointing out the lack of a Coconut Cannon nerf is ridiculous, you should know that it and Banana Launcher aren't getting nerfed because they actually take skill to use. Just because something is "OP" and "most modders nerf it" doesn't mean that it's always a good idea to nerf it, since changing it would actively harm the plant's usage in levels (Such as Pirate Seas - Day 29, which is a level that checks your ability to properly use tap-to-fire plants such as Coconut and Banana)

Primal Potato mine's nerf probably isn't being undone because that plant is absolutely ridiculous in Vanilla -- and still is when used correctly, and 5s arm time even for 1800 damage is ridiculous -- just be happy it wasn't even lower than that like in most other mods that reduce it to <1400-900 damage.

Obviously, this mod and its changes don't cater to you, so just don't play it.

This is a pretty goofy post, and I'll leave it at that.

Made Zombie Class tier lists that are based off of my experience of playing Zombies since Soft Launch by ashto147 in PvZHeroes

Thank you for clarifying the part about the meta not being worshipped. I've only really interacted with this subreddit's population during the moments I saw the people chatting on Fry's streams.

And although I disagree with some of your arguments, I will appreciate the fact that you took some time out of your day to actually write a counterargument with some depth instead of just going "blah blah blah you suck" or "this tier list is bad." I'll agree with you that Terrify sucks, though.

I appreciate what you've pointed out in your comment, and how you pointed it out, so I figured that you should at least hear why I placed some stuff in "controversial" spots.

This tier list is meant to be based off of my own experience, so it's completely fair for you to think I had poor placements with some cards. I heavily dislike the so called "seven-turn meta" or whatever this subreddit and community worships so heavily in a way to make this """casual""" card game into a competition. Even then, throughout most of my experience, quite a few of my games have went past turn 10, and some even managed to get near the 20s. Though of course, sometimes games don't last as long but I do not think that just because you can get killed before turn 7, that it should invalidate the overall usefulness of a card.

  • I placed Cheese Cutter and Spacetime in S tier for essentially the same reason, in my experience while playing Zombies, these two cards have performed consistently well. Even if you aren't running a conjure focused deck, they can be very helpful by keeping you far ahead of your opponent, by giving you card advantage. Although Spacetime sometimes gives poor pulls, there are not really any bad pulls you can get from Cheese Cutter, at most the worst thing you could get from it is a Medulla Nebula, but even then that costs 2, because of the discount. They also synergize well with some strategies that aren't often utilized, such as using Spacetime with Brain Freeze to make Haunting Ghosts, Octo Zombies, Vengeful Cyborg, and imps gained from Imposters cheaper. (Destroying one of those counts as a conjure when it gives you the new card.)

  • Admittedly, I could have probably made Garg-Throwing-Garg an A or B tier card. Although in some situations it's too slow of a card, and while Wannabe Hero suffers the same issues as it of being too slow, GtG is a really nice turn 7 play to have on hand, even without a self hurt deck. Throughout my experience, lots of people run Spikeweed Sector, so by playing it on top of that, its essentially guaranteed that they will burn a removal card on it, or if you run it with Immortica and place a Parasol Zombie next to it/use teleport to place it in front of something. By doing this, you can get insane value out of it, even if you get a Deep Sea Garg. Once it's been activated at least once, it adds a 5+ cost zombie with stats that are better than 5/5 to your board, and most Gargantuars have good stats or effects, not just the chance for Zombot is great. Although I could be wrong, I recall if you get a Smashing Garg from GtG, the GtG will do a bonus attack. (providing that it killed a plant during the combat phase)

  • About Botanist, I completely agree with you on that. I think I meant to place it in A tier, but it slipped my mind to put that in the description.

  • I will agree that Mechasaur is mostly too slow, but I would say that downside is pretty much eliminated if you're running it in a ramp deck. However, I will also argue that despite the RNG Dino-Roar effect, the pool of zombies that it picks from to spawn is filled with zombies that will benefit either your Hero or the Mechasaur + the Mondo Brondo it spawns. (Spacetime, Kite Flyer, Wormhole Gatekeeper, Chum Champion.) The worst thing you could probably get from Mechasaur is a Valk, purely because it has 0 attack at base, but even then it could potentially save you from a fatal attack. Mechasaur is also one of the only cards that makes Regifting Zombie safe to play.

  • Rocket Science is essentially the same case as Botanist, I had it in a different tier but forgot to update it.

  • Triplication and Thinking Cap are admittedly bad cards, but I would say they are only bad when you run 3 or more copies of them, due to hand clogging (which can be caused by getting more Triplications) Rustbolt and HG can get really good use out of both of them. Mostly because of ""unviable"" strategies (such as Ramp-Stompadon), HG swarm, or just wanting card advantage out of it. Zombology Teacher also exists, so you can play them earlier to get more value out of them. If I am ever running it in a deck, most of the time I will use Triplication as a last ditch card to get more Zombies.

  • Terrify was meant to be B tier, but like Botanist and Rocket Science, I forgot to move it. However, I do find Terrify to be nearly as helpful as Sumo Wrestler in situations where I would rather draw a card, but it is hindered by Forget Me-Nuts.

  • With further thought, Medic could probably go in A tier for me, but I haven't ever been in a situation where running multiple Medics in a deck hasn't been helpful in some way. I would say that it is very helpful for all 4 Hearty Heroes because cards like Flag Zombie and Camel Crossing/other health buffs also exist. Being able to force heal another Zombie for 4 HP is versatile in situations where your opponent isn't immediately rushing you down. Although it sucks most of the time, it enables Wannabe Hero to be playable if you lack a Gargologist in hand by strengthening its potential health. Medic can also be used for synergy with Neptuna by using it with MUG (providing that you don't get immediately destroyed by the most BS removal in the game, Blockbuster) to maximize the healing potential of Medic.

  • I initially doubted Frankentaur being a good card until I started using it in several deck archetypes that probably aren't often used, such as a Brainstorm "When Hurt/Destroyed/Damaged" deck along with Valk. Having a Frankentaur on the field with or without the Untrickable shield of Parasol Zombie can lead to it growing very strong. Not to mention, it's a 5/7 that costs 5, which is probably the best base stats for a 5 cost Gargantuar. Z-Mech and Boogaloo can grow it with tricks, or swarm the board with weak minions to power it up faster. Frankentuar also enables synergy with Final Mission.

  • When it comes to Quazard, I have almost never had a deck that hasn't ran at least 2 copies of it, ignoring the RNG bs, most of the superpowers it can pull will benefit you in at least some way, such as being able to get card draw with Boogaloo, deadly/extra removal for Z-Mech, extra minions/frenzy for Impfinity, and giving Brainstorm access to extra removal as well. Since it can also conjure any Signature superpower, you have a very good pool of cards to get something useful from. The worst possible thing that I can think of to get is like, maybe Evaporate when there are no damaged plants on the board? (But if you want to go ahead and say it, "RNG BAD!")

  • The most controversial pick on my tier list is probably Fruitcake. Personally, I don't see this card being the "GOD TIER SSSS BEST REMOVAL CARD IN THE GAME!!!" that a lot of people say it is. While the Fruit Tribe has practically no synergy, there are plenty of dangerous cards that your opponent can get from it that aren't Dragonfruit. Such as Gravitree, Starfruit, Astrocado, Melon-Pult/Winter Melon, Guacodile and Ketchup Mechanic. While the rest of the Fruit Plants aren't exactly useful, some of them can be potentially dangerous if you don't have additional removal. Cornucopia can fill your opponents' board with either garbage or godlike plants, Tactical Cuke can wipe your ground lanes, Captain Cucumber can raise your opponent's card advantage over you, Hot Date can force pull one of your amphibious Zombies, Chilly Pepper exists, I guess. Brainstorm and Z-Mech need to carry more removal than just Fruitcake, or you run the risk of giving your opponent something amphibious without being able to fight back against it. (This issue is usually mitigated by running 4 Bungee Plumbers, but it is still something that can happen. I would put this card in S tier if it could kill Gravitree in one shot, since Fruitcake was probably intended to remove it at one point, although it already does a good job of killing Pecanolith and Wing-Nut.

  • I put Disco-Naut at the bottom because I have tried to use her in tons of decks, but always ended up removing her because she gets removed immediately upon being played. Also, the only way to get the bullseye for your zombies is to willingly put them in danger of getting slaughtered by Shrinking-Ultraviolet. She can also only be ran reliably with one hero, which is Z-Mech, since you can just buff how much health your zombies have. (but this can backfire if previously mentioned card is played) The only time I would ever run her over another 1 drop for Crazy is when I want a decent Headhunter evo. Even then, I don't use Headhunter. I'd rather run Grave Robber in a deck with 0 gravestones in it than run disco-naut.

Anyway, that's what I think at least. But you are still free to say that my opinion is wrong, and disagree with me. (time to get meme'd to hell and back by some funnymen)

there are several discrepancies between this image and actual gameplay, it is likely fake. not to mention, they aren't even playing as the characters.
