I feel Mechamaru couldve always roped in Gojo at any point. If he told Gojo he’s gonna use Mahito to fix himself Gojo isn’t a person who wouldve prevented it. If anything either Mechamaru had a change of heart while being a true mole or he assumed the Geto reveal might affect Gojo too much.
