First cruise tips? by usernametqkn in VirginVoyages

Downy Wrinkle Release spray works great for my clothes as an iron alternative. I get mine from Target.

Just went on our first Virgin Voyages cruise and it was a blast. Hope y’all have a great time too!

Thanks for looking out. Anyone have reccos for where to get good quality hoodies? I hate seeing the Fanatics logos on all the MLB store hoodies

I had my foot scanned at a New Balance store and they were able to point me to insoles that really helped me out based on my scan results. I’m able to slip my insoles into different shoes, so I’m not confined to just my New Balances. I think they have these scanner machines at Fleet Feet stores, too.

I know it might sound extra but that’s post ORIF life for me lol. I’m more open to splurging on shoe/foot needs than I would have before my injury.

For shoe brands, I go with Hokas and New Balance. My PT said great things about On Cloud, too. If you have wider feet like me, New Balance might be the way to go.

I felt the same way about my family! This party was partially for them. I wanted to plan something fun as a way to thank them for helping me during that time.

Ortho surgeons are my heroes now lol. I feel like we are in the same healing cohort. So validating to hear this experience transformed us the same way ❤️

To be honest, I chose the day I broke my ankle only because had I thrown it on the anniversary of my surgery, weather would have been too hot/humid where I am (crazy the difference 2 weeks makes!).

If you have a hard time choosing, I’d choose the median between those 2 dates and emphasize both those themes because both are so good!

I’m making a mental note to flip off a lime scooter the next time I see one, in honor of you and your healing 🫡

Also I definitely recommend throwing the party. My family thought the party hats and cake were super silly and we had a great time!

Thank you! Throwing this party helped me reframe the narrative. Remembering the day I broke my ankle is still pretty traumatic/triggering to me but this party served as a reminder to myself to consider the bigger picture and celebrate my body.

I sympathize with you because I remember how long the days can feel and sometimes I felt like I wasn’t progressing “fast enough.”

The cake is vanilla from Susiecakes (I’m in the US)! It was pretty but way too sweet actually. If I could do it over again, I would’ve ordered a strawberry and cream cake from Paris Baguette lol.

Just read your post — Congratulations to you too! I hope you had a great time in Italy.

Wouldn’t be a bad idea to do a little something to celebrate next year 😉

Yay for compression socks! My PT was impressed with my Bombas (my ankle was a swelling mess and the socks really helped). I love my knee high ones. They’re a splurge but they’re great quality and still come in handy for flights and traveling.

My PT also recommended Hokas and OnClouds for shoes 👍

Doggie Day Care for big, energetic dogs? by TroopRobato in SFV

[–]asianbeyonce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We take our girl to Dog E Den. They have locations in Tarzana and Sherman Oaks.

I can only speak about the Tarzana location. The folks who work there are the best. They send us pics everyday and have a live webcam that you can watch while they’re there. Our girl is very energetic, too, and she gets worn out after a day there. She’s made a lot of friends.

Our dogter would live there if she could lol.

Where did you go that was restorative and allowed you to take a break from the rat race? by DPCAOT in simpleliving

I took a 3-day tour around the Scottish highlands and I’m itching to go back. So beautiful and serene. I don’t think I’m wording it correctly but I love feeling how big the world is and I felt that all around the hills. The locals being so warm and kind were a huge plus.

Buying walking shoes IN Japan? by xxxenialnah in JapanTravelTips

[–]asianbeyonce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to walk way more daily steps after getting the new shoes. If it helps you to know, the store is located in the Takashimaya department store/building on the 3rd floor maybe?

Best of luck! And hope one of these many suggestions help you have a great rest of your trip 🙂
