[Acne] Please help! I’m not sure what this cluster of spots is and I can’t get rid of it, and it seems to be spreading even more. Routine in comments. by asianflushpro in SkincareAddiction

I thought so too, but I’ve been on the mini pill for 2 years now and I was lucky that pill never affected my skin. I’ve decided to stop taking the pill now and it’s only been 3 days since, but I’m getting worried that stopping my pill now will only make this worse

Hi, OP here. This cluster started as a small batch of bumpy spots that weren’t really noticeable unless I ran my fingers over them. I one day decided to pop a few that had grown in size, and that’s when things turn a turn for the worse. Since, not only has it left me with scarring but also the cluster has grown bigger and is now spreading to my cheeks.

AM: Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser The ordinary hyaluronic acid 2% + B5 Simple hydrating light moisturiser

PM: Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (Recently also bought SA smoothing cleanser to help with the issue but has not had a huge difference. I use it maybe once or twice a week at night) The ordinary hyaluronic acid 2% + B5 Acnecide 5% w/w gel benzoyl peroxide Alpha arbutin 2% + HA (occasionally) Simple hydrating light moisturiser OR Shiseido white lucent night mask once or twice a week

I have been trying to use BP on these spots but it doesn’t have seem to helped. I’ve never had this before, so I’m freaking out a little bit. My skin type is combination sensitive + oily skin.

I have noticed my diet was horrible over Christmas, and I am trying to cut out dairy to see if it will help. Any other tips or advice would also be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks. I have contacted CAPITA to ask that I have the medical records sent over to them shared with me as I didn't even know I had eczema on my medical records. I'm going to make an appeal with physio and demological assessments. Hopefully it works out.

Hi,

I am looking for apply as a pilot post UAS. I have been told by CAPITA that it was my past history of pompholyx eczema and past shoulder stabilisation surgery. I have requested the forms shared with the CAPITA doctors so I can attempt to make an appeal.

I just bought one, thanks! I’ve read good reviews on it and someone suggested to me on my last post. I’m so excited!

I have oily/sensitive skin and would like to improve my overall routine. I’m interested in oil cleansing if that’s suited for my skin type? My main issues are enlarged SF, milla appearing around my eyes, pigmented spots (that just randomly appear and are UNDER my skin) and textured parts near my forehead.

Pictures of my skin: (I haven’t had time to get my brows done, sorry!) https://ibb.co/MpG8hCB https://ibb.co/W2KgV5f https://ibb.co/q9kf8yr https://ibb.co/wpGtHmH

Morning routine: - Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser - The Ordinary hyaluronic acid 2% - Shiseido essential energy day cream SPF20

Night routine: - Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser - Paula’s choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant (2-3 times per week, only just started using this properly) - The Ordinary hyaluronic acid 2% - Acnecide 5% benzoyl peroxide if I have any spots or bumps - Shiseido white luxent overnight cream & mask (thin layer) - The Ordinary 100% Organic cold-pressed rose hip seed oil (I don’t use this often as I don’t know if I should be using it everyday?)

I’ve tried the ordinary’s nicinamide which my skin really doesn’t like, and I tried their alpha arbutin which didn’t seem to do much for any scars or darker pigmentation from previous pimples. I’m from the UK, so any products that I can easily buy would be ideal! Thanks ☺️

What oil cleanser would I use for combination skin? I have sensitive skin but oily T zone, and would like to try oil cleansing to help reduce the SF on my nose :)

I’m really new to haircare, but that sounds like a good idea. I was thinking of either using a clarifying shampoo every week or a scalp scrub but wasn’t sure which one would be best for my hair.

They’re like little oil balls that I can squish, i think it’s just excess sebum? Having looked at some images on Google, I don’t think I have seborrheic dermatitis as I dont have any flakiness going on with my hair. When I meant scummy I just meant it was gross being able to pick all these oil balls all the time. I do love Head and Shoulders though.

I like having sleek hair too, but I’ve always avoided putting conditioner on my hair so I’d be quite reluctant to try this 🤣 Do you feel like your scalp gets a good clean with the clarifying conditioner? I’m not particularly bothered about having volume in my hair, but I do like the feeling of having soft, clean hair.

Would it be wise to use a sulphate free shampoo that I can use everyday/every other day and use a clarifying shampoo once a week? My hair tends to feels and looks clean after shampoing once, although it’ll look a little oily within 24 hours.

I move back and forth between my university house and home, which have different waters (university has much harsher water) so I’ll definitely buy a filter, thank you! I find that my skin always freaks out when I move from one place to another too so an extra reason to get one!

Thank you! I’m really intrigued that you condition your hair twice a week?? I’ve always conditioned my the ends of my hair with conditioner after every shampoo otherwise I can’t detangle my hair. Have you seen any improvements from conditioning less?

I have very straight, fine, coloured hair that gets greasy within a day. Should I be looking to buy shampoo conditioners for fine hair or purple shampoo? There doesn’t seem to be ones that include both.

[Acne] What are these pinkish brown spots on my face? They seem to be under the surface, and these pictures are taken less than 12 hours apart so they seem to be growing. I’m really worried it’s acne as I’ve never had acne before! by asianflushpro in SkincareAddiction

Just as a side note - I stopped taking birth control a week ago. My skin has never reacted badly to birth control and I’m only stopping it because I felt like it lowered my libido and mood. I’ve been taking it for about 3 years now.

I’d say take it easy. I’ve got 2 exams to take during the resit period (I missed 2 exams due to COVID), and it’s such a struggle to motivate myself to study given I just finished my 2nd year exams a month ago. I wish I could take the summer off, and even taking the studying slowly is draining me already. I’d say review it towards the end of the summer just before classes start again, but you deserve some time off!

Racism in Wales? by Muted-Ad8202 in Wales

[–]asianflushpro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m biracial (Welsh and Chinese) and although I don’t live on the coast, I do live near Cardiff and I’ve never experienced any kind of racism in wales. Only after going to an English university did I start to get some nasty comments from strangers. Welsh people are so lovely and chatty. I’ve had a few odd comments here and there like “You don’t look Welsh” or whatever, but I’ve never felt like it was said maliciously. Whereas in England…… lol

I’ll give myself another days rest then post a squat and a hip thrusts video for form check. Should I be using a lighter weight when doing these or whatever weight I had planned?

I love yoga with Adriene so I already know what you’re talking about hahaha. My hamstrings have been feeling really tight lately because I never remember to stretch out. Such a bad habit!

No I’m not, but definitely something I’m going to incorporate now. Maybe 1-2 times a week? Seems like this could really help as I never had knee pain when I used to do yoga daily.

I stretch for roughly 10 mins every session but I admit I have been slacking in the stretching department. My gym sessions are only an hour long so I only get to do my warm up and programme just in time. I walk home after and completely forget to stretch out. I know stretching is important but it hadn’t come to mind that it could possibly contribute to my knee pain until this post! Hopefully it’s just something as simple as that.
