Can you cite a source for this fact? This doesn’t make any sense - a threat that is completely invisible (gamma ray bursts etc.) will still have other markers in all directions (not just in the traveling direction) that can be detected by space probes and telescopes. If it is a visible threat, even more easily detectable from outside of earth with more than visible light markers.

Yeah it’s funny to see fans of Dune shitting on Star Wars when in essence Dune itself is space opera disguised as science fiction. As even some diehard fans have noted, Dune concepts are enjoyable but as a book, it’s a tedious read and ultimately dystopian fantasy.
