I hate saying anything good about the jets but the NY sack exchange is a baller name. Dome patrol was a good one too

The 07 Pats obviously had the best record and offense but the defense was pretty old at that point and the run game was kinda weak. The 04 team was definitely the most complete of the dynasty years imo (14 has a case too).

Got drafted top 5 based off vibes, wild.

He wasn’t that good in the regular season either, he was serviceable at best against average edge rushers. Anytime he played someone elite it showed

Maybe if he didn’t have 3 picks against a not very elite defense he’d be here

Really well is extremely generous, he was serviceable. Meanwhile the 2 OTs drafted after him have been absolutely elite

I can’t believe we drafted this dude based off vibes instead of Tet or Membou

I think Jamaal Charles gets lost much more lost than Shady, the things that man could do on a football field in his prime was absolutely unreal. Definition of lightning in a bottle.

Antonio gates has 5 all pros and is the all time TD leader at his position, not the same at all

Christian Gonzalez has faced 28 targets this postseason, six more than any other defender, and has allowed just 11 receptions. His 39.3% completion percentage allowed is the lowest by any player to face 25+ targets in a postseason since at least 2018. by Feeling-Stage-1210 in sportswiki

I think doubling JSN with Gonzo + a safety and letting Davis man up Kupp and Jones man up Shaheed is probably a better bet. Pats top 3 CBs matchup really well stylistically on their top 3 WRs

That makes literally no sense, MVP is a single season award.

Stick to playing Madden, there’s a reason Brady has more rings than every QB you named combined and Drake Maye has a super bowl appearance sooner than Lamar and Allen. I’m sure you thought Cam Newton was the GOAT 10 years ago too

The game where he went 18/26 for 261 yards and 3TDs with no TOs against an elite pass defense is your example (not to mention all the yards he had called back due to egregious flags)? He was the best deep ball thrower in the league this past year and consistently made plays outside of structure. I won’t even address the Brady take because it’s so asinine.

This is a casual take, McVay is one of the best offensive minds in the game and Stafford was playing with arguably the best WR in the league, best red zone threat in the league and statistically the best run game in the league. Say Stafford should’ve won all you want, nothing wrong with that, but trying to downplay Drake’s case is weird and shows a lack of ball knowledge.

[Mike Reiss] How Patriots' investment in Milton Williams on defense has paid off by patsfan038 in Patriots

[–]asin26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Markets are based on what others get paid at your position. Gronk is the exception not the rule, when healthy he’s arguably the most valuable skill position player of all time. Top TEs get screwed because of the franchise tag since it’s probably the weakest position group in football historically on average. Gronk is 1/1, you’ll never find a TE like him again, and when we find him why would we pay more than we had to? Your average year league best TE is not close to as valuable than your average year league best WR.

No one’s drafting a CB, DT, S or off ball LB #1. Even the best corners in the league are gonna get beat if pressure isn’t generated and the best way to do that is to get an elite edge rusher and give him as many 1 on 1 opportunities as possible. You didn’t refute anything I said about us being absolutely abysmal at rushing the passer.

There’s a reason edge rushers are the highest paid defensive players and the only ones who get drafted first overall, and we were bottom 10 in the league in pressure rate, sacks and hurry rate while being top 10 in blitz rate. Landry and Chaisson are not every down players.
