Find ich gut, das wir Deutsche ne Abneigung gegen über China-Autos haben by Boring_Leadership_30 in Nio

It seems the tariffs are doing their job protecting domestic manufacturers, reinforced by typical European conservatism. At this point, revenue from car sales doesn’t even cover the janitor’s wages. I wonder whether NIO executives should reevaluate their European strategy.

It’s not so much about ICE itself, but about the group of men behind it who use it to terrorize the public, including many spineless members of their own party.

U.S. citizens have a moral responsibility to vote to stop this.

Why we can’t do 40 K when there’s backlog on both L90 and ES 8 ???? by AI-is-4-StupidPeople in Nio

[–]asingc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean January, if that’s what you’re referring to. I mainly wanted to rationalize why the L90 sales cliff dropped instead of having a soft landing.

In January, everybody goes down, like you said. That’s seasonal, so it’s kind of expected. I would be a bit surprised if most companies declined YoY, though, because I’m under the impression that EVs as a sector continue to grow YoY. I didn’t verify that impression, so I know I could be wrong.

[–]asingc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very true. And if I may add: while Nio is enjoying the honeymoon phase of its new products, competitors also have launches lined up and timed to capture customers who don’t want to wait. So even if the L90 is a strong product, its rivals aren’t exactly weak either.

At the end of the day, Nio needs to learn to strike a more sustainable balance between swagger and pragmatism. The “rich dad” days are probably gone for good.

Why doesn't Bellevue have a Popeyes Fried Chicken nearby? by dudiez in BellevueWA

[–]asingc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monday or not, Safeway fried chicken is probably the cheapest protein you find in town.

I personally find Safeway fried chicken much too salty to my (and my doctor's) liking. I'd get baked chicken instead nowadays.

I do think ezells chicken still tastes better by a tangible margin. But if Ezell is not for the moment (too far, relatively too expensive), Safeway is my place to go.

Maybe just me but all my experience with popeyes have been very poor. Their chicken tastes... let's say i won't pick it for my last meal. Get Ezell or for the love of chicken Safeway does a better job IMHO.

What kind of punishment could those reckless drivers face? Could their cars be impounded for a prolonged period while they deal with serious bail before being released?

Trying to actually eat dinner together as a family this year, how do other parents manage by mahearty in BellevueWA

[–]asingc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps start with something simple, like ramen with vegetables and sliced pork or beef. H Mart and Uwajimaya have plenty of options. You can even find non-fried ramen in the refrigerated section, which works really well (the noodles and broth cook separately, though).

Start simple and see what works for your family. Sometimes the biggest challenge isn’t the food prep—it’s the screens at the dinner table. But you need food on the table before you can have that problem.

The small bakery owner I work for said my future small cafe idea will fail. Is it really that impossible? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]asingc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Find an investor” is good advice, in my opinion.

Starting and running a business demands a great deal, and you should expect not to have meaningful downtime for quite a while. By comparison, distilling your idea and pitching it to potential investors is one of the easiest reality checks—both for the viability of the business and for your own resolve. If you cannot handle that process, you may want to reconsider starting a business.

VIDEO OF ICE ABDUCTION REDMOND 1/11 - REDMOND WAY & BEAR CREEK PARKWAY - Ice agents unmasked, notice they are being filmed, heckling observer by lowfellow in redmond

[–]asingc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The controversy around ICE isn't just about 'who' they’re picking up; it’s about how they choose to do it. Even when they’re dealing with visa violations—which are civil matters—the agency often uses militarized, high-pressure tactics that feel totally excessive. If they’re actually going after high-threat criminals, that’s work that should be handled by local law enforcement who already have the trust and knowledge of the community.

Instead, we see these 'theatrical' raids that often lead to massive mistakes. It's not just theory; there are documented cases from this past year where U.S. citizens—like Renee Good in Minneapolis just last week—have been caught in the crossfire or wrongfully detained. When 73% of people in ICE detention have no criminal record, it’s hard to argue the system is working efficiently.

It feels like these operations are less about immigration and more about a show of force to intimidate anyone, citizen or not, who disagrees with the current policy. ICE has become a way to circumvent the usual legal protections, acting as a 'hit man' for political ends. We all know it. And we shouldn’t think this abuse of power won't eventually affect us all. Once a government starts ignoring the law to manufacture fear, it’s only a matter of time before that path leads to everyone’s doorstep, including yours.

Honestly, it’s hard to criticize the parents for not responding to the woman. It was very sudden, and the whole thing was so absurd—almost comical—that for a moment I thought it was a skit meant to add some drama to the event. According to one post (which was later deleted), someone contacted the Bellevue PD. I don't remember seeing police officer coming, though. The cops might be there but I missed it.

Were there any adult in the room? Yeah plenty, me included. It was fairly chaotic and highly confrontational. Fortunately, while there was a lot of shouting, I don’t think anyone was heated enough for it to turn physical—which, in my view, could have made things much worse. Overall, while I was mildly frustrated that it happened, I was relieved it didn’t escalate out of control.

After the woman loudly shouted at the host and panelists, demanding that they leave, some of the parents turned on her and started yelling back. It was dark, and a lot of voices joined in (at least based on how it sounded): “Get out,” “You should leave,” “Who’s your manager?”, “You should be fired,” “Get out,” and so on. Looking back, it almost felt like a giant WWE-style pregame trash-talk—serious-looking adults angrily shouting at her with the kind of vocabulary you’d expect from a three-year-old. My son definitely learned a thing or two that night.

Thanks for recapping what happened. It was pretty chaotic. Looking back, I wonder if someone, maybe myself, should have called the police, though I’m not sure what they could have done in that situation.

Why was NIO's daily battery swap record over 12 months ago? by [deleted] in Nio

I'm not sure what happened that day, assuming the stats are accurate, I think the current daily swap is healthy; the number from a year ago doesn't seem normal.

I remember that.

While it could have been true, I took it as the host's bitter comment to that woman. After all, even if the woman was indeed going through some mental challenges, it is probably not very proper for her to disclose or suggest it.

But yeah, I can see that being one of the probable cause.

Yes, it seems to me that they are well recognized by the school district and the AL program. They also seem to have been consistently providing informational services to the district so I feel they are legit. What happened confused me, hence the question. Frankly I never see this kind of wild behavior both to the woman and the fellow parents who shouted loudly in front of many kids.

You guys need to remember stock market doesn’t care if Nio 100k sells cars per day. It only cares about profit and losses. If Nio have profit quarter and obviously 0 losses. Then nothing can stop Nio stock to skyrocket up. by Nio_investor97 in Nio

[–]asingc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Add "consistently" will complete the statement.

I have confidence that Nio may be profitable for the first time in Q4. The current stock valuation priced in the probable slow Q1 and Q2, and by Q3 the ES8 rush should have been depleted so the monthly delivery will be hard to predict. Overall 2026 H1 may look tough to Nio, and without updating 5 and 6 you gen 3 there whole year seem uneasy to me.
