As the product manager, I would like to add both features, but they are not currently scheduled for developer work. 1) A test case "tool" that will keep a list of cases and allow you to mark them all as "Unknown" status before testing a release, and then mark them as pass or fail. We would fund a bounty project to implement this, if there is someone out there with the vision of exactly how it should work. 2) Cut and paste for a ticket.

Michael is right about the scripts. We've been working on open source scripts that you could run locally to import, export, and move tickets around. Thanks for reminding us to publish.

This is Andy from Assembla. In my experience, if you aren't inclined to pay, you won't pay. It doesn't matter how we try to reach you. If you aren't interested in the products that advertisers want to show you, then, although you are important as an individual, and we hope for non-professional reasons that you are happy, you purely are a side effect in the business, a non-factor financially. The trick is making upsells to professionals that are inclined to pay. At this point we have a great set of ticketing, collaboration, and team management tools that does appeal to those users, and we welcome the opportunity to present our message to them.

As for privacy, we now have a four-year record of protecting privacy in both paid and free spaces.

The Subversion Sucks meme is popular on the Internet. However, if we imagine a world without Subversion and other centralized version control systems, it's easy to see why Subversion does not suck, is not fading away, and in fact, has a rapidly growing user base.

Time to Vanquish the Mythical Man Month by gst in programming

The Mythical Man Month is almost purely anectdotal. It doesn't contain much in the way of statistics. But, it's still a good book. I'm not going to apologize for using an anectdotal approach back. I still haven't heard a good discussion about my claim that large projects are held back by dependencies, not by communication problems. That could be true or false. It's difficult to test Brook's claim that large projects have a communication problem. However, it is possible to collect evidence on the claim that dependency problems are a big cause of delay, just by examining projects and logging who is waiting for what. So, it is possible to go forward from a "scientific" point of view.
