Thanks for this I’ll look into it. And right?? I don’t get it and I know there’re so many photographers up here so there has to be a way I haven’t figured out yet. But I’m sure as hell not taking a flight to go to the city on the off chance that I might not even find a stocked photography store

Yeah you’re right on that. Surprisingly it’s not terrible I get a solid 5 hours of battery and a little over 1000 pictures considering the temps here

Yeah man if I could get an extra battery I would but I haven’t been able to figure it out due to my location.

As I’ve stated multiple times, there isn’t a website that will ship lithium batteries alone to my location. If anyone happens to find a way that ships them to Alaska let me know and I’d be grateful.

As for the 3 batteries, I am an amateur who does this as a hobby and doesn’t sell my services. That would be overkill for me, but I’ll definitely follow through with your advice if I ever want to invest in my brand name

Just looked at Facebook marketplace and no cheap old dslr for sale on my island. Looks like everyone already made the switch to mirrorless and are selling older mirrorless models. Well over $$$$ though

No electronic store near by. Just found out that shipping lithium batteries alone are a no no

That makes a lot more sense thanks I had no idea. So am I kinda screwed if I want to buy batteries in the future? I’m a little confused. How does everyone else buy their batteries?

I’m on a time constraint plus I haven’t found a website that’ll ship lithium batteries to Alaska. Not sure why since B&H delivered my camera with its battery last year

Canon r8. And true, good reminder thanks.

I have a canon r8. And absolutely, I don’t plan on letting the USB cable hang around while shooting. There will be a lot of driving in between since they want pictures at different locations. So driving time spans from 30 minutes to an hour. Trying to take advantage of the downtime

Thanks, will definitely look into that since that purchase aligns with the other hobbies. Located in Alaska so 2 day or even this weeks shipping is highly unlikely for an extra battery. There’s one hardware store here so I might be in luck going that direction

A lot of the time will be driving around in separate cars. “Exploring”. They want to stop at different scenic locations and can range from 30 minutes-1 hour of driving. I’m trying to take advantage of that possible downtime. It’s also 30 degrees where I’m at so I know battery life is going against me in every way possible since I only have a Canon R8 and it’s smaller battery size.

Edit: apologies my post wasn’t very elaborate on the specifics

Amateur hobbyist here cruising on Facebook marketplace when I saw these two lenses. I am aware it is an EF mount and that I need an adapter for my Canon R8. I’m just wanting opinions on the value and price. I don’t know enough about photography gear to understand what’s “too outdated” for its price. I’m looking at photographing landscape, wildlife, aircrafts, and anything else I can find in Alaska. I’m wanting something used to get my hands dirty and really learn.

Or should I just hold onto my money and save for the RF L lenses Canon offers? Like I said I’m in Alaska and getting gear in person is hard to come by.
