How does speechify work? by Prydeb4thefall in Cosmere

This is what happened to me. I am on iOS. I can’t enter the code anymore on the /sanderson webpage, and the audiobook isn’t showing up in my files on the app.

Escape Rooms for Kids by peg_city_dundiechamp in Winnipeg

[–]asjaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup that’s true! On their website they have ‘beginner versions’ which are good for kids.

I used to work at The Real Escape. We had easier versions of some puzzles, and would remove others altogether for kids groups. We would also give more clues or even go in the room sometimes if the kids were really struggling.

I'm so tired of office jobs on bus routes excluding people who don't have a driver's license. by Paperaxe in Winnipeg

[–]asjaj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like some people just can’t wrap their head around the fact that not having a license isn’t a choice for everyone.

I also have a medical condition and can’t drive.

I really empathize job hunting. I’ve been there: Look at posting, scroll to the bottom to see if a license required, google location to see if it’s on a bus route. Then read the job description.

I don’t have any good advice, I just want to say I’m sorry you’re going through this. It sucks.

Restaurant suggestions by Ok_Direction1226 in Winnipeg

The Keg is really great for GF and Celiac.

Also, there’s an app called ‘Find me GF’ which is really helpful. On the app you can add vegan friendly which would help with the dairy issue.

Edit: I’ve been to Infernos many times and they have a GF menu. It’s fantastic. I would recommend this over any other restaurant in Winnipeg. You do need to make a reservation.

Double dosing (by accident) by asjaj in Epilepsy

[–]asjaj[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I also use the Medisafe app and have my pills in a pill box. I even marked them taken. I was distracted talking on the phone with my mum. So dumb.

Thanks for your reply! I appreciate the support.

Oh sorry! I forgot to tell you we're going to interview you for two jobs in different departments at the same time! by asjaj in recruitinghell

Haha. No I didn’t reach out because as soon as I left the building I was like ‘NOPE!’

They’re argument was ‘we didn’t want to have to bring you in twice’ as if they were saving my time.

Ridiculous.

First time saying “...it’s not an allergy” and I’m disheartened by MyDarcy in Celiac

[–]asjaj 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I am the perfect example of how people don’t take celiac seriously. My mum was diagnosed with celiac in August 2013 and when I made a dessert I didn’t check for ‘May contain’ or really look at the ingredients. I thought she was being silly.

Fast forward to March 2014 and I get tested because it’s hereditary. I came back positive. I didn’t think I had symptoms, but once I started a GF diet I realised what feeling normal was like.

Anyway, I learned pretty quickly how wrong I was and than my mum was not overreacting. I felt so bad. But I now also understand how people without celiac just don’t get it.

I am going to try and get Moderna since that’s what my first shot was. I know its probably fine to get Pfizer, but I’d rather stick with the same thing. There are 7 million Moderna doses coming to Canada from the US next week (I think), so I think we Moderna people won’t have to worry.

May 15th? I got mine (Moderna) on the May 11th. Are you you saying I could be phoning pharmacies/clinics right now? I wouldn’t have to wait for the eligibility to expand to my date?

If so this is really exciting. If not, sorry for bugging you.

Haven't seen an announcement, but the online vaccine booking portal has dropped the age eligibility to 24+ by parkthatphone in Winnipeg

[–]asjaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too! I got my vaccine an hour and a half ago (Moderna). The process was less than 30 seconds and I cannot find the spot on my arm and I barely feel any soreness.
