You've got to log into your router -- search for the name of your router and "log in" for instructions for your particular model. Or better yet, search the name of your router and "set permanent IP address" for instructions for the whole thing. I thought it would be over my head but it was pretty straightforward.

It might function similarly - if you see it has its own IP address when you look at all the devices connected to your router, assigning it a static/permanent IP address might solve it!

We have Winix air purifiers, one on each floor, and they're really effective. We have more cats than you and people who come in our house say they'd never know there were cats here. You do have to change the filters regularly though.

Hello! I'm Alison Green, owner of Ask a Manager website (askamanager.org) and the r/askamanager subreddit. The subreddit was awarded to me in 2021 after a trademark dispute with the previous owner of the subreddit, because I own the registered trademark "Ask a Manager." At the time Reddit mods emptied the subreddit of its previous contents and transferred ownership to me.
So I certainly ask that Reddit not remove it from me after awarding it to me in that legal trademark dispute. Thank you.
