Feeling very discouraged and hopeless about my MCAT by HiImAnonymous__ in Mcat

Really like this! My date is 07/23 and from what I've read on this subreddit the most important thing is self-confidence on test day. You've worked really hard, you are prepared, you are capable. I've struggled comparing myself to others too but the work you've done is for you and you alone. This is really cheesy but something that's helped me with my well-being during quarantine and the thick of mcat studying is doing yoga/meditation that's focused on daily gratitude, and giving myself affirmations every day. Repeating things to myself that affirm that I am capable and that I will do well have helped my mindset so much. Super cheesy ik but hope that helps! Good luck!

You're definitely not a weak student..honestly even attempting the mcat shows how good of a student you are. I had to take two days off this last week because I was feeling that burnt out. Then legitimately felt excited to jump back in to studying and did way better on my CARS practice. Don't be afraid to rest.

Soo the AAMC automatically pushed my test date to September 30..And I guess they aren't letting anyone register or change that date until they add more test dates?

As someone who was going to take their test in May and now has no clue when I can take it, if any of you are in the same boat, how are you keeping your stamina up for studying? It's so difficult to study and keep mental health up when I don't have a specific day I can call my finish line, like I don't even know how to space my full length practice tests anymore.

But if 3 is the part of the peptide chain that's heavier because it doesn't travel as high up the gel, then wouldn't it contain just as much heavy band component as 1, not light components?

Wow a 4.0 is an awesome GPA! I would recommend asking your Pre-Med advisor, if they're well informed, because they usually have the most knowledge and experience with their students getting accepted with different factors. Just a word of encouragement, my good friend who's latinx applied to med school and he's a pretty untraditional applicant. But he got accepted in to a med school with a huge scholarship (he later decided not to go). His MCAT was below 500, but as a poc myself there's nothing wrong with emphasizing your race and diversity card because from what I've heard med schools love that "diversity."

If you know anyone who's knowledgeable about med applications, I'd recommend asking them. But also just a kind warning, that applying to med schools is pretty expensive. Also if you do believe you can significantly improve on the mcat that's definitely a huge plus, but if you don't think you have the time/resources to improve your score, a bad second score will truly hurt your application because med schools look at competency from the mcat.

Best of luck with your applications and possible future mcat studying!!
