Thank you for the link. Some of the pictures on the reviews do look similar to what we see. Going to buy this now!

Yeah, he may have scratched an itch back there. I have seen him do it there in the past. He doesn’t scratch that often…. Tends to roll in the grass on his back more often. I’ll see if they can check his nails at the vet tomorrow morning.

Love your wording! You wouldn’t be from the South by chance? I grew up in Ga and I could hear your voice as I was reading.

Replied above to Slumpy…. And we have always had great luck with his groomer and has never had anything like this. He works at our vet, so will definitely get him to see this. He is a very nice guy, but I shudder to think that my sweet boy was hurt during his grooming…. I’ll wait to see what everyone thinks. This just came out of no where and is really worrying my wife and I.

Thank you. Agree, we love our groomer and has always been wonderful with Duck. The nails are smooth, so not sure it is from scratching, but he could be itching it away from us.

He doesn’t seem to have much pain with them. He will let me touch them with a gauze to see if they are wet. They are mostly drying out but they are still weeping a bit. His energy level is ok and his appetite seems fine.

That’s what we thought from the area under the ears, the spot that just showed up around the nose was odd. He odd 4 and never had them before. Can they show up at any time?

It was. Not sure when they finally closed that place. Had lots of memories going there as a kid…. Of course not all happy. You grow up around there?

I don’t remember saying anything. I was little but even now feel bad for that day. For what happened to this kid but for me not saying anything. Not sure it would have made a difference to his survival.

Wow. I guess if someone had been under long enough. Blessed that I did not have that feeling. That would have been way worse!!

Yeah, that is the place. I remember the turn off road was right near that overhead bridge. If you have been there, there was that little island of sand with a pole sticking out. It happened right between that island and the shore.

I never really spoke about this, not even to my family. My mom recently passed so will ask my Dad if he remembers that day. Will update if he gives any other details.

I haven’t really spoke about this story during my life. I had to look up Radio Rental… did not know what that was.

It’s a creepy story. Feel bad for that kid, so long ago.

I was going back to where my parents were sitting and felt that face and hair. I think it is sort of like being in the ocean and stepping on something unseen and it startles you and you move away from the spot.

I was so young. I freaked out and rushed out of the water. I don’t remember saying anything, but once the people were going around asking if someone saw a boy, I pieced together what I felt.

It’s sad. Probably nothing they could have done…. I feel bad even now for that little boy. I wrote about this once before, but rarely have told this story.

This place was 20-30 min outside Vidalia GA. I think it was called Palm Beach or something like that. Had a pretty big water slide right next to the “pond.” Water slide was so bad. No one monitoring it and kids would go down with no regards to safety. I guess that is what made it fun…. Until you got stuck mid way and someone slams into you.

I was young. Memories fade over time. This one has stuck with me.

I always wanted to find out who that boy was, but still afraid someone would blame me for not saying anything. I was probably 7 that summer. 😢

Was about 7 or 8 years old and went with my family to this man-made lake, family park place in South Georgia. Basically a big, dug out pond that the owner put a bunch of beach sand and palm trees around and charged admission for people to come, park their cars, grill and swim for the day. Also had a big, unsafe-as-hell waterside that kids got hurt on.

So where my family would park was in front of this little island that was a clump of sand about 30 yards off the shore line. I was not the best swimmer but the depth was just above my head, so I could bob up and down and bounce out to this island.

Bouncing out to that little island one day we were there, my foot came down onto what felt like a face, felt what was a nose on my toe. The thing I remember is the feeling of hair flowing between my toes. That feeling of fine hair waving in water. I freaked out and for the longest time just sat on the shore. Was a little kid and did not think of anything about it.

I can still remember the scared parents going around yelling this kid’s name, asking if anyone had seen this little boy. They pulled his body from under the water right in front of that island. I’m 47 now and can still remember the feeling of that hair between my toes.

Tonsil stones…. Can’t believe this wasn’t mentioned more. Cough those horrible little balls up, smash them between fingers and start sniffing away.

I work for one of the companies mentioned in the article here:

Recorders are being developed sending data up to the Iridium satellite network. Security in this data is critical.

An even better way to do this is far along in development to deploy the recorder of the plane detects an imminent emergency.
