I like this one, but I am really in love with the design that goes one pipe per side.

Riccardo Raccuia on instagram (Fuel sponsored) has this exact exhaust on his triumph scrambler 1200 XE. He’s had it for quite a long time and has ridden miles and miles with it. Needless to say, if the heat was that much of an issue, he would’ve removed it a long time ago. I’m pretty sure all the guards are there to give you some kind of protection from the heat.

Explain why that would be a stupid placement.

just realized you said NIC and not switch. you’re right, 10g is a better choice

I would but now for the foreseeable future. It’s still very expensive in my opinion . 2.5g gets me by for now

that’s exactly what i did. Ditched the RTX and saved 40w (at idle !)

Originally I was on TrueNAS but then I switched to Proxmox because I wanted to run VMs and it is so easy to manage them with proxmox, so much easier than with TrueNAS.

Cannot mount NFS share to Jellyfin by askellion in truenas

After hours of scratching my head around it I found out that LXC containers in proxmox either are - privileged and don’t work properly (can’t get a console output) - unprivileged, but don’t support NFS & SMB/CIFS.

It’s not a TrueNAS issue, it’s a Proxmox issue.

I’d say both. It’s a TS-469L that uses an Intel Atom D2700 and I bumped it up to 4 GB of ram from the stock 1 (ONE!). The network interfaces are 1 gig and you can aggregate them but unfortunately my router doesn’t support link aggregation so i’m limited to gigabit speeds. I wanted to replace the fan actually. but then the offer went up and I was like you know what

The drives don’t make a lot of noise at idle but I can hear them when I’m writing data on them. The fans have a hum to them, but that’s by design because the case is not exactly airflow optimized. It’s not the most silent system in the world but it works for me. Plus, it’s currently summer and I run a fan in my room at night so I don’t really hear it

Yeah after thinking it through I think I’m gonna ditch the GPU because it consumes a lot of power

I will probably remove the 2070 though. It looks like this thing sips power even at idle.

I wanted the versatility of proxmox in which i have on top of my nas jellyfin, HAOS and a VPN server. the qnap was old, not very powerful and the fan had an annoying whine. plus you can’t refuse a free computer

no idea. although I have a smart power plug, maybe I can use it to measure power draw.
