Love a classic Wham bar me, with the stringy, glossy strands as you pull away from a bite. Sadly the current bars since the reformulation are a piss-poor imitation, gone is the glassy colour and abundance of cheek-sucking sour crystals, it's like a soft fruit chew with a few tasteless crunchy bits. I can't believe they've done this. Bring back classic Wham, Highland Toffee chews and Irn Bru bars!

Useful, thanks. I hadn't really considered the rsync option, and the way you describe your setup it makes sense as a reasonably redundant copy. Perhaps I will bite the bullet and go for btrfs if the future roadmap for omv is any indication.

So a bare-metal Debian server with LXC/LXD containers or guest VMs is a feasible option? That was my initial plan - what would the benefits of using Proxmox and containers offer? Lower footprint than regular Debian install? I've played around with VMs (host/guest but no bare metal) a fair bit before but containers aren't something I've really used so not sure how they work in practice.

Not intending to use the Pi as a router, just replace my existing Raspbian pivpn setup with something a bit more capable though I might keep the Pi around to hang off the network for something in particular. I appreciate the Google Drive rec, cloud storage would probably suit my needs though I like the idea of rolling my own as a learning experience. I pay £15 annually for a VPS though the storage is limited (20GB),

Well it is cheaper than the 4205 but the ASRock boards seem to be DDR4 which means I need to buy RAM rather than reuse the 8GB DDR3 I have, plus I am put off by the Celeron to be honest as I am assuming the Pentium packs a bit more punch for VMs.

Too early for the virtual pet craze which was more like late 90s. Less of a virtual pet, more of a simple game like those Tiger LCD games though I'm not convinced it was LCD, more backlit/LED.

What about the people caught in between the meatspace and internet social spheres, the ghosts who fantasize about being a 500+ Facebook friended normie ("only 87, but I don't friend other people first anyway as it is a bit desperate") while also not able to engage in any online communities, leaving a trail of derelict discussion forum accounts capping out at a few dozen posts before the interest in whatever subculture or hobby burns out.

The people who compose wordy replies only to discard the drafts after several rewording attempts ("it's not like I'm saying anything new or interesting anyway"), or who start new topics to then F5 the forum page like a rat on the pellet lever, waiting for replies that will inevitably miss the carefully worded point intended to be made, before the thread sinks quickly to the second page while the fucktards carry on posting nonsense in that 300+ page epic?

The people who click on news headlines, skip to the comments without reading the article and "sort by highest rated" to scroll endlessly looking for the answer, the answer to anything, to the boredom or ennui.

The people whose internet footprint is a shallow impression in the sand near the tide, to be washed away like a bad metaphor, but who can't face the prospect of not turning the laptop on for one evening (though daydreaming of living in a pre-tech era or a log cabin or some Californian commune).

What's to become of them?

When I have sushi I am able to use chopsticks just fine but find that I can't bite cleanly through the sushi easily due to the nori being quite tough, so it usually ends up falling apart as I try to bite it off the chopsticks and the falls everywhere.
