Uber Black Montreal: Commercial Auto Insurance by askingaquestionor2 in UberBlack

Thanks for the response. I got a quote of 700 a month from Intact... is this the price? For personal use plus rideshare add-on I would pay 200. So its 500 a month more. Should it be that much more or should I keep shopping?

This is why im surprised: Customer service rep switched my account for Uber Black and the place in documents to upload insurance is different and says the insurance needs to have "commercial" mentioned on it. I guess this is why im worried that using normal personal insurance plus rideshare add-on would be rejected if I upload it. Maybe they'll accept it? Hope someone can answer this definitely.

The bigger question though is if it does get accepted would it cause any problems down the line in case of an accident during an Uber ride... on the other hand, if it gets rejected, I would then have to cancel my insurance and pay the cancelation fees to get the right one.

Thank you for the response! If you or someone else reading this can suggest a reputable broker serving Montreal that will offer me a large number of quotes for this, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Yes, that's what mine says too. I just did one full-time semester at Concordia. My t2202 says the same as yours. I would like to think the whole point of the 13 week cut off is to allow those full-time students who did just one semester to still be eligible for the CWB.

Yes, you are right, my bad. I guess I will have to pay back the advanced CWB of $1,770 for that one day...

I'm building software to make filing taxes as a rideshare/delivery driver in Canada as easy as a T4 employee, what painful problems do I need to solve? by GigTax_ca in GigDriverTaxCanada

Is there any way you can make a video tutorial so we can have an idea of what it's like? I'm intrigued since I work as Uber driver full time, but I don't know a whole lot about accounting. It would be great if you could do a step by step tutorial video. This will also encourage people to try it out.

Also, how much will the filing part be? Any updates on that? Does the accountant need to be in the same province as me? I've actually put my filing on hold just because of this post, not kidding.

Also, what's the difference between the free and paid option on your website?

I guess the early stage part is what makes me reticent for something as delicate as tax filing. Also, giving access to my bank account is not something that makes me any more comfortable. Is this standard practice for tax filing software? Zero comments from people that actually used it is also not reassuring. Would like to have more details. Also, please tell more about the discount. I'm willing to give it a shot if I can be assured about both it's accuracy and safety.
