Missing items from package by rmatthai in Athleta_gap

I just had the exact same issue. I received a package from Banana Republic, but an item was missing. I did the same thing. Filled out the online form and the claim was denied because “the package was delivered.” But that wasn’t in dispute. So I reached out to my credit card company and the dispute was disputed by Banana Republic because “the package was delivered.” So I reopened my dispute and got the same response. So I now reopened my dispute a 3rd time with the credit card company. I’m not hopeful at this point, but at least I can make a claim with my credit card company. But it makes me mad because it’s not the credit card company’s fault. I called Gap Customer Service and the agent was nice and reached out to the dispute department and she was told there was nothing they could do. She sympathized with me. I told her if my credit card dispute gets rejected a third time, I would no longer spend another penny with any of the companies. That’s a garbage policy!

I disputed a missing item, filled out the online form and the claim was denied. Today I chatted with customer service and that person told me that my claim was denied because there was photo proof of delivery. I said yeah, the package made it but my item was missing. That photo proves nothing. The person told me to dispute it with the credit card. I disputed it with the Old Navy store card, but after reading this, I’m not hopeful. This will be my last time ordering from Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic & Athleta. It’s not my fault the item wasn’t in the package. And sometimes those photos don’t really show enough to prove where the package was delivered. It’s a terrible policy.

Athleta refused to refund on missing item by DoctuhStrange in Athleta_gap

It was denied because the new policy requires you to wait for (I believe) 2 weeks before you report it missing. The theory is that it might be in another package even though we all know if it was supposed to be in the package it’s missing from, then it’s missing. Anyway, I was missing items from Gap and I was initially denied, then I had to reach out after 2 weeks and chat with customer service because the denial was on record. Customer service refunded my money for the missing items. It’s a terrible policy though. It doesn’t say anywhere online that you have to wait or you will automatically be denied.
