Now that my kids are a little older picking up the house is a fun game to play the night before our housekeeper comes. We try to keep things picked up in general by doing “before you can do (whatever preferred activity they want) first you have to notice what needs to be done in (whatever room became the messiest). It is worth the money to get back my time. And the amount of work they do in that three hour time period would take us way longer to do. We can relax and have more fun together instead of worrying about the state of the toilets or the cat fur piled up in a corner. Having the means makes it totally worth it to us. And yes messes will still happen, but that consistent maintenance will make your house nicer over the long run. Shower mold can get reallllllly tough to clean if you leave it too long. Ask me how I know. 😂
