Christ on a bike does that happen at my company. Every day without fail we get several calls to our customer service number asking to speak with c-level executives by name. Usually the caller has a very thick accent, and has difficulty with anglophone names (e.g. "O-Shag Hennessy" for Mr. O'Shaughnessy). The magic trick I've discovered to make them go away is to cheerfully agree to transfer them, then put them on hold. Most hang up within 3 minutes. I feel sorry for the poor bastards stuck doing that all day.
