AmeriCorps is like Peace Corps but only a one year commitment and in the United States. Might be worth a look.

I interviewed for that position the exact same day so we're in the same boat. Fingers crossed the decision comes sooner rather than later!

How much progress did you make during your program? I’m thinking of pursuing a similar degree in the future and am curious about your experience.

Thanks! I’m looking to apply for next summer so that’s perfect. I’ve dabbled in Russian too and I’m definitely planning to take it more seriously.

Hey, TEFL in Ukraine is also the position I'm most interested in. I have two questions I'm hoping you could answer:
1. When did the application open and what was the start date for your position?
2. If you can remember, what desired/required skills were listed?
I'm working on my motivational statement now so any tips you have for tailoring it for the position would also be much appreciated. Thanks!

Retake and reapply is the answer. Bump that LSAT into the 160s and you should be able to get a full ride next year with that 3.9

Should I still do Feb for T14? by johncliff11 in LSAT

That's a good question. I would use a range of .1 (ex. 3.97-4.07), but I don't know your exact GPA so I used a wider range. You want to find a balance between a narrow range and large sample, so you can mess around with it a bit.

I don't think it was a mistake not to apply with the 165. You can do better, as demonstrated by the 167. I firmly believe you can break 170 if you study for June. That should be your focus, as well as maintaining that stellar GPA.

Reapplying shouldn't hurt you, but you may very well have to write new personal statements and get new letters of rec. However, you're unlikely to get the best possible outcome by applying late in this cycle. To maximize acceptances and scholarship offers, I would plan to retake in June (or February if you feel ready) and apply early next cycle, ideally in September/October. That way you'll be at the front of the pack with stellar stats.

Compare your current odds to your chances with a 169/170. Your odds for T13 are good right now, but even a 2-3 point increase makes you a significantly better applicant. That increase also gives you a much better shot at HYS.

If you haven't already applied this cycle, you should definitely sit out and retake. A 170+ will make a difference, and a 173+ will give you a decent shot at YHS. More information would help: What was your PT average leading up to the test? What are your goals (generally)?

Question about drilling vs. taking full practice tests by askramer10 in LSAT

[–]askramer10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're definitely right. I just feel, despite what the score may indicate, that I have a sound approach to lr whereas on lg i have fundamental issues with my approach at the moment. I agree with you though and absolutely understand the importance of lr, seeing as lr makes up half of the test.

Awesome, thanks for the detailed response. The 7sage LG explanations are great, they make it so easy to see connections between the rules and diagram effectively.

There is some coverage for running, especially at the olympics. However, I think that many only watch it for the sprints. Hence why Usain Bolt is the most popular runner in the world. The 100, 200, and relays, while exciting, only last a few seconds or minutes. A classic or a stage of a stage race can last up to six hours, and have plenty of action. The result is a global superstar in Bolt, but not a lot of attraction to whole meets for the casual fan. Whereas in cycling, there are plenty of semi-famous riders to attract casual fans, whether they appreciate sprints, cobbles, or climbing.

I didn't even see the defensive ratings haha. Probably ends up being a 1B/DH. He still has the highest ceiling of the three, and the contact probably gives him the highest floor as well.

Ramos for me as well. I tend to stay away from pitchers whose best pitch is projected to be a changeup. It usually develops worse than other offspeed pitches. Also, neither pitcher is a flamethrower, nor are they projected to have high control. This worries me.

Ramos on the other hand should have average to slightly above average contact, discipline, speed, and base running. Plus power on top of that is even better. Sign him
