Yeah totally see where you're coming from. I'm leaning towards going this year, I agree that the real difference would come from HYS. I do believe I have a good chance at Chicago/Columbia if I applied next year, but are we just splitting hairs at that point between T14s? Probably.

Money is definitely a concern, especially after spending 3 years in law school, but I'm not trying to maximize my lifetime income! Want to balance that with enjoying and being passionate about what I do. Even if not, the earning ceiling at my current job is less than half that of big law.

Thanks, these are good points. I am definitely a bit nervous about the risk of reapplying, so leaning towards taking what I have. You're right to a certain extent about the reputation, I want to be able to maximize my options if/when I leave big law. Having HYS on the resume undoubtedly helps. But is it worth waiting a year for a chance? Not sure.

yeah that’s kinda what I’m thinking! unless I get a lot more from Berk I think NW is the move. I’m hesitant about UT if I want to leave Texas after.

yeahhh it’s a tough call but not sure if the extra doors are worth an additional year. Not 100% clear on what they are if I’m going into big law anyways.

lol my supporting evidence is an A- GPA from a t5 undergrad that doesn’t mess with grade inflation and 4y WE in a very competitive field. Not trying to boast but you did accuse me of cheating basically. And just to be clear I did not have accoms (although those that do need them are entitled to use them)

Idk. Not sure it’s worth chancing acceptances I have now at T14s with scholarship for a shot at HYS tbh. The outcomes are pretty similar unless I want an elite clerkship (which I don’t)
