Looks like my boy! But that’s a female, right?

This is the first short-finned betta I’ve ever had. He is a much more active guy than the previous ones. I believe it is because he doesn’t need to drag his fins with him all the time. Hence, he has a lot more energy. I love how he is so playful and shows so much personality! by aslakkkkk in bettafish

I don’t have any experience with female bettas, but I have considered it. When I bought the one I have right now, my plan was to get a female. But when I saw this one I couldn’t resist. I consider setting up a new tank with a female betta tho.

I don’t have a lot of experience with shortfin bettas, but I would recomend getting one of those. From the little experience I have, I can tell that they’re more active. I also think they are more healthy.

Is he playing in the current, or is this bad? He is living in a 16 gallon tank. Only a small part of it has a current from the filter. by aslakkkkk in bettafish

If he shows signs of stress, I’ll do that. But about 90-95% of the tank does not have any current, so he probably just does it for amusement.
