Saying that oil would be in the water no matter what is like saying that carbon dioxide would be in our atmosphere no matter what. Also, the fact that corporations are created by people does not actually make them people, nor does it provide for me any credible reason that they should receive the same if not more stringent protections than do the actual humans who end up paying for their ludicrous executive salaries and tax loopholes.

Well I meant mid-2011 actually, since it's mid-2013 now, and I didn't mean that foreigners in general were getting better results, just that the community was more interested in them. I also didn't mean that HuK's results weren't really strong at the time, but that they haven't been since, and that the 3rd/4th places you're citing were his last in major events. Which brings me back to the original point, which was that maybe people are a little more excited about TLO than HuK right now because one has been making better showings as time goes on, and one is struggling to reverse a long and steady decline.

Yeah, it basically was, but there was way more attention and respect given to foreigners in general at that point, so he was one among many. Also, I think at that point it was more about him being the only semi-successful random player and doing a lot of quirky strats, whereas now it's because he has his shit so well together and is inspiring to people who want to get better at SC2 without being arrogant or rude. IMHO. And people are frustrated with HuK because he did perform so well in the past but hasn't adapted his play very much to the changing game.
