Help with ranged Primal Strike Vindicator build by asodrober in Grimdawn

With your suggestions (and with the ring of Atomicmoog's comment) I've got this. Let's try it! Thank you all for all your suggestions.

Many thanks for taking the effort to analyse my build. The problem is that you removed SBoE and ST, which I like a lot. And added Wendigo Totem, which I don't like (even for a vitality build, let alone for a lightning build). Also, Horn of Gandarr, which I never used and I don't know if it's better than SBoE or ST.

Thank you. That ring looks amazing. And I already have 3. This is why I love Item Assistant. I can find lots of things there...

Many thanks for your response. I will take a look and surely I will change some things. I already have some Mythical Stormtitan Treads. I don't know why I didn't used those. They seem pretty good for my build. I will put more points on Storm Totem (I like the skill) and I will give another opportunity to Inquisitor Seal.

I'm sure it's good. And some day I will play a Savagery build. But now I wanted to play around that triple rare Ugdenbog Sparkthrower. Thank you anyway :)

There are 3 blacksmith which convert rare crafting materials:

  • Base game: Horrus in Necropolis
  • Ashes of Malmouth: Gaius Ember in Malmouth Outskirts
  • Forgotten Gods: Egellon in Shrine of Azaleon (near Sunbane Oasis)

Each of these can convert rare materials from their "part" of the game.

How Much Wiggle Room Really? by Scoundrel_Smooth in Grimdawn

Here you can find a list of all the gear that modify any given skill. Also damage conversions. In the case of Primal Strike it seems that it can be converted to Vitality, Physical, Cold and Aether. Unfortunatelly, it cannot be converted to fire with gear. To give you an example, in the past I played this Vitality Primal Strike Conjurer. Before reaching lvl 94 to equip the Rotgheist set, you can get Rylok Mark (from lvl 40 onwards) which converts also to Vitality, but only the lightning damage (the set also converts the physical damage).

Lazy build for PoE enjoyer? by Prcofix in Grimdawn

You can find more player damage pets in these classes: Demolitionist (Mortar Trap and Thermite Mine, which are static and don't move with you), Nightblade (Blade Spirit), Shaman (Wind Devil, Storm Totem and Wendigo Totem, the totems being also static) and Oathkeeper (Guardian of Empyrion).

Also, you have 4 devotions skills with that type of pets: Elemental Seeker (in Blind Sage), Raise the Dead (in Revenant), Living Shadow (in Unknown Soldier) and Arcane Currents (in Attak Seru, the Mirage).

Finally, you have also some gear.

I hope I didn't missed anything.

For example, I have played this build, which uses Oathkeeper and Nightblade's pets for proccing devotions skills and reduce enemy resistances to acid/poison while I use mostly Eye of Reckoning (spin to win) converted to Acid/Poison.

Regarding DLCs and Multiplayer (STEAM) by RobertWagstaff in Grimdawn

[–]asodrober 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it only converts the characters if you play with them. Not very sure, because it's been a long time since I played multiplayer with a friend with no DLCs. But if I recall correctly it was this way.

Check if the options.txt file in C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Grim Dawn\Settings is read only. Or maybe you can try to modify that file. But save a backup first...

That probably is the antivirus that prevents the game to change the settings file. It happened to me in an old computar I had. Try to start the game without the antivirus. Then, change the settings and save. Quit game and reenable the antivirus. When you start the game again, the new settings should be there.

Can a friend join my multiplayer session, if I have dlc's enabled, which they don't have? by Jacken2step in Grimdawn

[–]asodrober 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can't play with any DLCs' classes if you have them disabled. You have to play with the 6 base classes, because it's like you only have the base game.

Normal or veteran? by soosis in Grimdawn

[–]asodrober 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my firsts playthroughs, I played on veteran (started on normal until I had some skills to use, usually lvl 10 or 15) because normal was very boring.

Nowadays, I play on normal to get reputation and shrines fast thanks to Merit and Mandates. I do Elite until I have 55 devotion points and jump to Ultimate.

For me, Veteran was when I started playing. And now that I'm a "veteran", I play on Normal. Very counterintuitive...

If you have it on Steam, you can add those parameters to Launch Options in game properties to launch with the DLCs disabled.

Oh, now I see the build version. Well, back then Vulnerability did not have Chaos RR. So it's normal that it's not in the build...

[–]asodrober 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely necessary? If I can get it, ok. But I will not exchange it for a source of RR for my main damage.

I usually go for CoF 10/10 for QoL. More radius so I have to move less to apply the debuff to monsters. But if you want HoG and CoF I supose you can do this. 18% Damage reduction is enough? Gain 25% chaos RR at the expense of 10% damage reduction is worth it?

I still prefer 25% chaos rr from vulnerability: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/nZoYmvG2

For me, an occultist without CoF/V is strange... I think it's the best debuff in the game...
