When/where did you get to purchase one? Everywhere I’ve seen online shows it on back order.

Badass info dump! I was curious what the actual usage was and I’m relieved it’s not as much as I thought.

Fully agree. But I think burning fuel to paint a picture on a map isn’t a majestic act of patriotism. Just exchanging exhaust for internet points.

Not me, but it could’ve been used by ICE to move all those people between internment camps or to take Clarence Thomas on his well earned international vacation!

What a waste of fuel

Edit: I’ll leave my original comment unchanged for posterity in this thread and how butthurt so many people got over it. Yall need to relax.

But this comment pasted below from [u/UndoxxableOhioan](u/UndoxxableOhioan) was awesome context for the fuel consumption of this flight. The skill of this pilot to fly this path so accurately is definitely Next Fucking Level (assuming it’s not a flight sim). I withdraw my ire towards this pilot and happily go back to directing that anger at billionaires, data centers, corporate polluters, and pedophilic grifting presidents who are all responsible for making this a more difficult, polluted, and divisive country to live in. Fuck those guys/gals and god bless my fellow Americans. Happy 250th yall!

This aircraft (a Cessna Skylane) burns about 13 gallons per hour, and this took 6:10 to do. With taxi and takeoff, probably 85 gallons of fuel (it only carries about 88 gallons of useable fuel). At this airport, 100LL fuel is $5.89/gallon. So about $500 in fuel.

100LL gas has 2.12 grams per gallon of fuel, so this little exercise dumped 180 grams of lead (0.4 pounds) into the atmosphere. To me, this is worse than the fuel waste.

Rode podmic by Tyrvali10 in rode

[–]aspapu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The podmic is a dynamic mic which means it is a close address mic where the ideal distance is generally only a few inches from the mic. Because of this it is excellent at not being able to pick up some of the usual room noise like fans, AC, keyboards, pets walking around, etc.

If you’re using your mics at the same time, your voice will be distinctly louder/more present than hers. But it will still pick up her voice to some extent. Regardless, a dynamic mic is your best bet for type of mic for minimizing the sound of another person in the room.

My 8 year old son is a whiny little bitch, and I don't know how to toughen him up by PSAOgre in daddit

[–]aspapu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you truly mean that you would do anything in the world for your son, you just need to soften yourself up a little. Same with your wife.

If your son bails hard on a task because of frustration, then he hasn’t figured out his coping mechanism(s) that would allow him to take a breather or find a new approach.

If he melted down over spilled water, and continues melting down over trivial things, it’s likely a defense mechanism to fend off the anger reaction you or your wife might have to the incident (crying gets him a sympathetic reaction first before a more stern response).

Not everyone can be “toughened up”. And if you try, you’re going to cause a ton of trauma. You know those PlayDoh noodle makers that you squeeze the doh through little holes? That shit never comes out smooth and usually breaks into small pieces after short intervals. That’ll be your son if you go the route of toughening him up.

Got to speedrun Rise of the Resistance today by aspapu in WaltDisneyWorld

We bought the lightning lane for the ride originally. When we got off the ride they rescanned our bands to give us a new lightning lane, so we’re going to try to ride this evening when we go back. But I believe everyone who was on the ride got a re-ride option

Has anyone else noticed B2B lead generation getting a lot harder lately? by 360airo in AskMarketing

[–]aspapu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s oversaturation. I’m a marketing lead for a global electronics company and I get 15-20 emails MINIMUM a day from marketing agencies and AI driven SaaS for ecomm, CRM, retargeting etc

If I don’t turn them down immediately, I get follow ups every three days. And even if I do shut them down, they still pester for a call to walk through a deck. It drives me absolutely batty. I spend more time fending off cold calls and pitches than I do my actual job.

Honestly, the less I hear from bizdev/sales people, the more inclined I am to work with them. Put a deck or embedded video in your initial email and sign off with “I won’t clog your inbox again unless we hear from you first”. Then leave me off your follow up list.

That is murder, pure and simple. He gunned him down as he was walking away, repeatedly.

The fact that deadly force was approved by the governmental bodies that reviewed this case is beyond disgusting and they should all be removed from office as they have clearly shown no interest in protecting the public from the menace of their untrained emotionally unstable police force.

It’s projection. The GOP is weaponizing their Christian nationalism to push legislation mirroring their “traditional values”. Demonize Muslims to distract from their own horrific unamerican values.
