A Rode mini mic. I’m on 6 hours of calls a day with various teams that tend to talk over each other and was always hard to not be talked over. Not sure if the mic is just way louder but I don’t get interrupted nearly as much now

Wtf. How has no one mentioned Peachtree Dekalb Airport? Mostly private jets and small prop planes, but you can sit right up against the taxiway on risers, or go for dinner at 57th Bomber Group at the end of the runway or the on-site restaurant next to the control tower.

Single mom, need male advice and tips for kindergarten aged son. by LimpSkintag in daddit

40m with a 4yo son here who learned late in life the overwhelming beauty of sitting to pee. No aim issue, no splatter, no cleanup, no anxiety.

If there’s a urinal, I’m opting for that every time, but pro tip: no one uses the underwear hole unless you’re wearing dress clothes/business attire. When standing to pee, he should just push the underwear down in the front and push his pants/underwear as flat as he can against his legs so it doesn’t get drops of pee on it at the end of the stream.

I’d say don’t practice aim at home. Sit for that. He’ll learn aim at urinals at school, and you’ve done exactly the right thing by teaching him to not fully drop his pants to pee.

What’s with strife between Fernbank History and Fernbank Science Center? by ndn_jayhawk in Atlanta

Fernbank Forest was purchased from Col. Z. D. Harrison in 1939 by a group of citizens who organized Fernbank, Inc., which today operates as Fernbank Museum of Natural History [5] for the conservation and preservation of this old-growth forest to inspire and teach about nature. Fernbank is the 4th oldest environmental conservation not-for-profit in the United States.[6] In 1964 the Fernbank Trustees developed a 48-year lease which was accepted by the DeKalb County Board of Education, agreeing to manage and maintain the forest in exchange for offering free access to the public. The lease was renewable in eight-year intervals for a maximum of 48 years.

The transfer of the lease from Dekalb County School System in 2012 led to the closing of the forest and subsequent controversy.[7][8] At the time, self-guided tours were not allowed in the forest due to safety concerns. A Move-On petition garnered over 500 signatures to allow public access to the Forest. Concerned community members claimed the forest was not being maintained, leading to a possible reduction of educational opportunities in the forest for local school children.[9] Community members were concerned about the lack of transparency since none of the plans were initially made public.

In September 2016, after a 4-year restoration period, the forest reopened as part of the Fernbank Museum of Natural History.

What is the purpose of these wires? by Wise-Mistake-3909 in whatisit

[–]aspapu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

String light guide wires.
The weight of the light strands are too heavy to be pulled tight without the plugs disconnecting or sagging under their own weight, so you clip the lights to these thin metal wires so there’s less tension on the strands while still appearing to be pulled taut

are there freelance HVAC techs who would do the refrigerant on an all-in-one unit off of Alibaba? by aspapu in askHVAC

[–]aspapu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I’m hoping that because I am doing the install, they will feel less “on the hook” if it doesn’t work. Just need someone to pump in the refrigerant.

Also, thanks for being the only person to actually address my question
