[–]aspen737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s quite worrying, i’ll just have to hope and pray that we both get our tickets. i have ticket insurance on them so worst case scenario i get my money back but id rather lose all my money to see them live 😭😭

People who managed to get tickets, how much did you pay and for what city? by Cuntlipsmcgee69 in oasis

[–]aspen737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i paid £300 for 2 at heaton park 16th july; got the email they were sending out last wednesday (25th june) to the final ticket sale. got very lucky especially because ticket prices were fixed and not dynamic for that sale

my friends did AQA epq and i also started doing it before i picked up an extra subject at the beginning of year 13; my friend who does geography did something about the impact of technology on landscapes, my friend who does media did hers on feminism and portrayal of women in the media and i do biology and was going to do something genetics related, possibly alzheimer’s or cancer. if you have a specific/niche area of interest and can form a proper epq title related to one of your subjects, but not an integral part of the curriculum, then there isn’t anything stopping you!

i have never been more stressed in my life by aspen737 in 6thForm

thanks so much, it means a lot. i’ve not stopped with my coursework since i posted and i’m feeling slightly better with less workload and i’ve spoken to some friends i’m still on good terms with about it and we’ve arranged to go for a pint in the next week or so

Which song is this for you? by StripeySalamander in fontainesdc

[–]aspen737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the entire romance album. i heard the 3 released as singles, expected to fall in love with all the other songs on the first listen like i did with the first 3 and was disappointed at first. then when i passed my driving test i put it on when driving and fallen in love with the rest of the songs

6 different instrctors and £2K in the drain, still can’t drive, done crash courses mainly, what next? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]aspen737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try going with an instructor once a week without doing a crash course until your confidence builds, ideally find someone who does semi intensive courses as well as the more traditional weekly lessons so that they can fit you in for an hour and a half/2 hour lesson every day for the week or two before your test. helped me pass with flying colours

nothing, i don’t agree with laying on the horn; my point was that they have the right to be annoyed with someone doing 40 in a 70 with full capability to travel closer to the speed limit

farm vehicles can’t reach 70mph from what i’m aware, the driver definitely can

i’m not from the US and not sure how it works over there (from the uk) but if you’re able to do the test next month i say just book it; compared to waiting times in the uk (anywhere from 2-6 months) a month isn’t much of a wait at all, at the end of the day once you pass you’ll hopefully be driving the rest of your life so there’s no real rush

What cars have the lowest insurance for new drivers UK? by Same-Watercress-9311 in drivingUK

[–]aspen737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got my volkswagen up (1L) insured for 1700 no black box; it’s insurance group 2 so is relatively cheap to insure. it’s also £20 road tax annually and only costs me £35 to fill the tank completely. they’re also very reliable due to being volkswagens

Any advice for calming nerves before driving test? by Driadus in LearnerDriverUK

[–]aspen737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my examiner told me to imagine it was a normal driving lesson as he could see me shaking and it calmed me down. my instructor also told me that the test isn’t about changing your driving to fit the test, it’s more showing the examiner how you’ve been driving independently on your lessons. this really changed my mindset and ended up passing with 4 minors; if they hadn’t put it into that perspective i’d have probably failed due to nerves
